Jump Shot Masters

Reading a thread where it was mentioned that Efren jumped 1 ball or something like that I started to wonder who the best jump shot player would be. I have heard of a couple people that accept jump shot challenges. Too bad there couldnt be some sort of jump shot challenge with 4 - 8 players or so performing some of their shots.

So who would you pick as the best jump shot player? And if known, what type of jump cue do they prefer?

Maybe include an example of jump shots that would be considered 'routine' for that player. (We all have made 1 incredible shot at one time or another)

Well I think before anyone could give a good opinion, you must decide if it was harder to jump with a full size cue, and if it is, wiether or not that would mean someone who jumps great (full size) is better.

Also you need to look at the tips as well. Phenonic (spelling isn't very good sorry), or leather.

These are all big factors in jumping.

But I think for full length Earl Strickland is going to be one of the best, and with a jump cue (and a modifide jump cue), Mike Massey.

I saw Hsin Huang make 4 jumpshots in a row and nailed them all - out in the middle of the table and the ball wasn't hanging either! And that was against Mike Zimmerman who was playing great safeties. She is a monster with her jump cue.

Immonen is great with a jump stick. Quite a few times I've seen him push out to a jump shot, only to have his opponent force him to shoot and make it. There's also that great 3-rail jump shot he pulled against Corey Deuel in the '04 US Open.

Is she the one ...

That is sponsored and uses an Xbreaker.
There is a player I use to play, supposedly down
in Oklahoma City now, that is a hell of a jump
shot artist named Dave Hendricks. He is very good, with all types of english on the cue on jump
shots.

Seen Corey Deuel make some jumps and make them look effortless.

One was from his match where he beat Efren in the 04 US Open. Efren played a great kick safe and Corey jumped it without thinking twice and using his full playing cue, not a jump cue.

Not to brag to much. But I think I am one of the best jump shooters.I shoot jump shots at a very high percentage.I jump close and far away very good I also shaft jump but don't do it any more.I been knowen to hit some insane jump shots from a chalk or less away.My good budie I play with Larry nevel pro play shaft jumps awsome. He can be seen jumping on the x-breaker website. But with a jump cue i think I jump as good as him if not better.I have tryed many jump cues and my fav jump cue so far has been a bludworth jump cue has good balance and can do the one handed jumps with it.I taught my girl freind how to jump and she made 9 out of 10 with the ball in the pocket and about 3 balls behind the object ball. She is the only lady that can jump in the pool hall I hang out at it seems.I just love to watch some of the good old school players watch her jump and they make excuses because they can't seem to do it.(sure they could with some practice) My top three jump cues would have to be 1.blud 2.jacoby.3.bungee stay away from them cheap j&j jump cues they jump but not as easey.

From what I've heard and seen, Johnny Archer and Scotty Townsend are definitely among the best. Tommy Kennedy can hit the "short jump", where the cue ball, object ball and interfering ball are real close together, better than anyone I've ever seen.

16 years old Wu is a very proficient jumper. Not only can he jump very close jumps consistently, he is also very accurate. I spent about 45 minutes with him watching him trying out my jump break cue and he was just amazing.

Well, Larry Nevel is an amazing jumper and I am sure most of you know that you can see his 1mm jump on my site.

I also think that Thorsten Hohmann is one of the best jumpers in the world.

I have heard so many people telling me that Shawn can jump and even pro players I have spoken to told me they had learn a lot about jumping from Shawn. Therefore, I guess it is fair to say that Shawn is a great jumper as well as a great teacher.

What I have learn is that the really good jumpers can control where they want the cue ball to land, and how high it would jump.

Mike Massey is known to jump pretty decently.
