Awesome Shawn. Above and beyond the call of duty there. You dont see any other pros dropping there phone number and offering help. Too nice of you.

David, you should really take him up on this!

I see it.

BTW, the Tom Simpson article is great. For learning to jump, I would say the two things to focus on first is hitting through the center of the ball and not being afraid to stroke through it. Maybe start with jumping a shaft first, then a cube of chalk, and work your way up to a full ball.

I like this post because it's important to understand or conceptualize what actually is going on before you try to jump whitey. You are hitting through the center (not under) and in essence pounding the cue into the ball into the cloth covered slate surface trying to create a rebound action. The quicker the stab (in and out hit) the more likely you are to get results (choke up on the cue). Coming down in a 45 degree angle is percieved common angle of incident but this too as you get more proficient at the 'jump' can be increased or decreased depending on allot of factors. Every shot in pool has visualization, and the jump seems more profound. I too think thats why pool is so addictive and difficult to walk away from, because in minds eye at times it goes as planned, where in life on a day to day basis it doesn't seem to occur as often as we like.
