In our last event 1st place took home $1065 with 31 players. We are hoping to eclipse 50 players this time around.

We have multiple side pots available as well.

After the 1st few rounds there will be tables available for practice and side action.

Hope you hit your 50 players you are shooting for.

Good luck to you. At the last tourney we had the 1st person to claim victory before the tourney ended up winning it all. But this is going to be no easy field.

Hold on a second. Before someone asks, allow me:

Is it on bar table or big table?
What type of cue ball will be used...red dot, blue, dot, or measle ball?
What type of felt is on the tables?
Are they drop pocket or ball returns?
What type of balls...centennial, aramis?
What type of house cues do they have?
Do they use blue/green chalk?
Do they cater to pool players?
Are they bangers or real players who usually play?
What type of racks do they have...wood, metal, Nasa material, Sardo?

that's all i can think of right now. If i have more, i will post.

J/K. you don't need to answer all of these. I know the answers, I have been there before. Someone else may want to know. :)

Hope you get at least 64. Sounds like the last one was a success.

This is a great tourney for all you 8's and below to get involved in. Don't miss out! Get out there and support Ebony and Jerry.
Sounds like this owner is dedicated to helping promote pool, which is a good thing.

and he got bumped to a 9

Yes he did, and Congrat's to him. He also did some damage in the past alexander's tourney's as well.

Agreed.
But i do hope it will be a big turn out for everyone on Saturday.
I hope all goes well and good luck (skill) to all playing.

I spoke with Ebony, the TD, and she has determined that we'll probably open the tables and charge a greens fee. This will save everyone from spending so much money in quarters.

I hope everyone can make it and this will be another success.

In the coming months we are looking to do a 9 & Under or 10 & Under tournament. Who is interested?

Progress idea that should be done imho Valley wide, GREEN FEES verses Quarters.:)

Actually there was an interesting poll about this recently.

I say green fees vs quarter should be determined per tournament. If it is a long race and the tables are a 1.00 a game--Then green fee all the way.

Short race and resonable table price price then prolly quarter would be fine.

BUT I VOTE FOR BIG 9 AND UNDERS!!!! EVERY WEEKEND!!!

5 or 10 dollar entry plus side pots would be good and not too expensive for people to come.

PS.. If the building that we are playing in does not use their A/C people will not come tho!

I know.. if it was like that, were people could play very good players for cheap is nice , but that only goes so far.

People like to be able to win money or at least think they have a chance and they will probably show up over and over.

If they get drilled by a super strong player and they 2 and out a week or 2 in a row, they probably wont come back and then the tourny dies

In some states, yes you are correct. Where i grew up, everyone came out to play regardless of the talent. Everyone played even and it was basically practice, practice, practice and hope you played the best around (at times). Although is seemed like forever before i ever won a tourney, the hard work eventually paid off and i learned a great deal from better players. To me it boils down to this:

I guess if your goal is to just be the best player in the tourney and win money, then the handicap tourney will suffice.

If your goal is to improve, then jump in the opens where you will continue to learn and develop as a player.

Back to the thread...anyone know how this tourney is going today?

Dennis

I went over there for a few and hours.

Tanner and Lee are playing for the hotseat right now.
