Actually this was a challenge, not a tournament. But if you want to play........cheating the game will be a forfeit.

Time allowing of course. Challenge pool match with Viet My will be at 8pm.

I'm really sorry I'm gonna have to embarrass you....

I am so confident, when I went to the Birthday Party at the Billiard Den last night, I didn't even practice. Don't need to. How do you think I started playing pool?? Because one quarter on Galaga all day got boring and so I started spending time on the pool tables. Ah, the life when we were in our teens.

If you don't believe me, my bio and recent interview both mention this about me.

This is true. Unfortunately, I won't be able to be film chief. I may make a cameo late on Friday evening, but will definitely be there on Saturday for the tournament.

This tournament is to support the OB Cues Ladies 9ball tour!

We appreciate you coming out to help us do that!!

They will be raffling off (2) beautiful OB Cues.

We will also be honoring their dress code & rules of conduct.

1. No T-shirts (collared shirt for us guys)
2. No Shorts
3. No Smoking during matches.
4. Matches will be announced in person and not by PA.

This is a WPBA qualifier which makes it a very serious event for these Ladies. I appreciate your support for the up and coming women players!

I am willing to donate $40 for a chance to play what I assume is above (to way above) my level and get a chance to see the women at the same time. A few questions:

Probably no one will know me so how do I get handicapped? (I am an APA 6 in eight ball - not definitive but gives you some how I play)

Can you explain the handicaps a bit. Does "call 8" mean I can win by making the 8 or 9, even combinations on the 8?

If I call at 9:00 Sat. will that pretty much assure a spot?

If you will text me where you're from and your full name. I will try and handicap you properly. Otherwise you will start the tournament as a 7 and might be adjusted during the event.

I have the Handicapping chart available if anyone would like to see it. Ratings will be from -4 to 10. Most entrants will be 6-9 range.

Call (8) means you would have 2 money balls at all times, but you would have to call the 8.

The earlier you call to enter, the better. I will not be answering the phone after midnight Friday. Just leave your name on the answering machine anytime after midnight Friday.You may also simply pay Friday night.

Jui Lung Chen

I had the opportunity to hang out with Chen and Viet My a little this past weekend at the Fast Eddies 9Ball Tour.

I got to tell you. Chen speaks little English, but when I told him I had not received his entry yet for this event, He smiled and made some hand gestures that indicated he didn't want to get in the middle.

If he does show up, he's always welcome in any of my events that he's qualified to play in! He's a stand up guy who loves pool as much or more than anyone I've met. Fun to be around!

Maybe we should do a separate race on table tennis!

I propose we play 2 games of each of these 4 disciplines...

a. 8-Ball
b. 10-ball (or 9-ball if you prefer)
c. Short Rack Banks
d. One Pocket

Finally, we can do a race to 50 in 14.1 as a tie-breaker (tie or not).

How does that sound Ray?

(Who wears short shorts?)

The winner picks the first game
We do a race in that game
Then the other person picks the second game and we do a race in that.

If the same person wins both sets, it's over. If it goes 1-1 we poll the audience for the third and deciding set!
