Now when there's more and more talk about the reality shows featuring pool, an idea occurred to me. Why wouldn't we make a reality show about instructors? Each of them gets a team of, for example, 6 individuals who can't hit the CB properly or never even played the game. They get the initial three weeks to train them as much as possible. After that, every week there's a competition between the teams, each team randomly colliding with another one. Among the losers, the team who, according to the judges, showed the worst performance, is eliminated. Among the winners, the best team chosen by the judges wouldn't have to participate the next competition and would therefore be safe from elimination for that round. It would also solve the problem regarding the even number of teams for match-ups.
The purpose of the show would obviously be about who's the most competent instructor. For that reason, the majority of the participants would be chosen among the current notable official instructors, pro players and maybe some famous top-level amateurs. However, there could also be a few "bonus seats" for completely anonymous players who would win the lucky drafts and get a chance to lead a team themselves. Maybe it would be some young potential talents for future instructors, maybe some experienced old guys who remember the era of hustling, maybe just bangers who reported only to have fun, make a name for themselves and try to make the real instructors' lives miserable.
The teams of novices would also be drafted and put into different teams completely by accident.
What do you think? I know I'd personally enjoy watching that show
