From Johnny Archer's FB page:

Johnny Archer will be playing Jeffery Ignacio a race to 25 this coming Saturday at 6pm. It will be played at Marietta Billiard Club. It will be for $5000/man. Come by if you are in the Atlanta area. The atmosphere is gonna be great. I will see you there.

No idea about streaming...can someone ask Johnny? I will watch it in person!

Before anyone tries to chime in with any bs about amounts in the middle, if Johnny says they're playing for $5K a man, they're PLAYING for $5K a man...

Jaden

The only players I would put above or at the level of Johnny being up front and honest are the Dominguez'....

We are playing 10-ball. We will be playing call safe. Call the pocket, if you miss the guy can make you shoot again.

I hope its not streamed PPV, since then people will demand to know all the details of the match and how the PPV $ is being split and by whom, blah, blah.

Well, now I don't care if it's streamed or not......call shot with the option has gotta be the
worst set of rules at a pro level....gotta go to a redneck bar to find a worse set.

This tells me there will be many safeties played. Every difficult shot will be thought about, due to missing it and possibly getting the shot back because of being hooked. I don't like that rule.

A stream would be great! What about call shot with a push. Only the option to pass is not taking the luck out, it's just throwing the bad luck back on the other player. If that is the way they want to play, I guess you can't argue with it. Should have made the shot in the first place I guess.

I disagree. 10 ball with the option is the best game for the pros to play, by far. There is very, very little luck in that game. Don`t talk to me about the death of the 2 way shot, play one or the other. I have loved this game since the first time i saw it used at Hopkins` Billiard Expo years ago. I have never seen the problem with taking the luck out of the game at the pro level.

Ok.... It's still a terrible rule.

I prefer called shot when gambling...it's just torture losing when guys luck in a ball or luck you safe.

Johnny won't gamble on slop pool. I expect him to win this one.

am watching this if they stream it
2 players I like
Race to 25 is just nice not too long like race to 100 or 1000
I would say this is about even match.
Contrasting match up-

Old v Young (47 v 22 )
Slow v Fast
Multiple World /Major winner v Non - World /Major winner

But I suspect there will be lots of defensive safety play. Johnny will play at his slow pace and slow down Ignacio fast rhythm. It can go either way but I think Johnny has slight edge. He will grind out the match. Plus it is his home room
:grin-square:

I do not like these rules either. As a spectator, I think the luck aspect adds excitement. Maybe from the players view it is better, but maybe not because I also refuse to play with these rules when I play. As said though, it's their game so should be played however they want,
