Just announced--johnny vs ignacio!

Why I disagree

Well, I'd like to voice my opinion on the call shot-call safe rule.

I must be in the minority on this forum, but I like call shot and call safe.
If you miss your pocket, you need to sit down.
And when coupled with call safe you may have to shot again if you hook your opponent.
Love it. Applaud Johnny Archer for requiring these rules.

All games on pocket tables need to be call pocket.
I think this would make the majority of players better, from your first day of playing to your current level.

Also, I'm not sure the speed of the majority of players on this site.
I read a lot of lower level player type responses which is great but, I personally prefer reading what the better players are talking about.

I think calling your shots along with many other rule changes is the wave of the future.

Many pro's have been re-racking if they make a ball on the break playing One Pocket. This rule is now trickling down to some pool rooms that I have found myself playing One Hole.

Thanks

Karate-

If you do not miss this is a bunch to do about nothing. If you can't figure it out, you probably miss.
Nick :)

I agree with you 100%.

I have no problem calling anything. If you can't do what you call, then maybe you need some more practice. I think Texas Express rules is what killed the game, from a player's perspective. Ask C.J., ask, Earl, ask Buddy, ask Keith, or anybody else who played before this BIH fiasco came into play.

You get it. There's a lot of hot air about call shot & the reality is once you've reached a certain level of proficiency slop really doesn't enter into the equation. It's 1 foul that has it broken. Take it back to 2 foul & bring back ball strikers. The current game is too pedestrian.

When pros miss...they luck safe like amateurs. Cheapens the game.

I used to think you were an ok guy.

Now, not so sure!

Sorry Eye-man, but one has absolutely nothing to do with the other! You are correct in saying all top players hated the TE rules, from the git-go!..A 'call safe' rule, would only further bastardize 9 or 10 ball, even more than TE. or BIH did!..It would make the game boring, and virtually unwatchable for the average paying spectator, live or streamed. :(

It would basically turn 9ball, into one pocket, which will never be popular with people who wouldn't know a good safety, from a bag of apples!..They only want to enjoy watching top notch, exciting shot-making and position play..(which was prevalent in 2shot foul rules)..And those are the thousands of people we need to cultivate, if we are ever going to get pool out of the toilet again! :sorry:

PS..You and Karate, need to realize, that although you guys may be accomplished player's, most of the
viewing (ie; paying) public cannot, and never will, be able to see things through your eyes...You can't make pool "luck-proof"..If you did, 'Joe Six Pack' would hate you!
