Just arrived....GINA Beauty

Gina Cue

Beautiful cue. Does Ernie charge extra for snakewood? I might have got a leather or snakeskin wrap but the linen looks nice. Very classy. This post is welcome in the main forum.

Nice acquisition sir!

To be honest with you i dont know. I just asked him , if he had some cue in the price range between 2k-3k finish in his shop.....and he send me 2 pictures......and i saw this one and fall in love....the work istjust perfect...

Looks like it's at least worth $450. I'll go 600, because I had a good week in sales. I wouldn't keep it if I were you, and I'd only buy it for resale. Alright, $625.

Kidding, nice veneer combo and good-looking cue. Hope you win thousand after thousand with it. You'll need to. I know what you probably paid for it.

Your comment is very original.....:-)....if i want to sale one day you are my first option....but can we talk about 700$....:-)
Thx man it`s amazing...

Yes, Ernie does usually charge more for snakewood, it is difficult and time consuming to work with. The wood on the butt sleeve is probably made up of 6-8 separate pieces of snakewood and I defy you to see any seams. He was explaining all this to me once about working with this material but I don't remember the details. I just know there is a lot of work involved.

I notice you also have a Josey

Care to compare hits for us?

Gorgeous Gina indeed...love
sharp points!

First of all the different joint, josey wood to wood, gina steel joint , Josey had a softer touch (talisman tip medium) little lower deflection then gina but the sound of the gina when you hit the ball is just the music......
You fell much feedback from both of them , but it is hard to compare....
Great cue makers and i you want to try josey just get it and you will see..

Sorry for not commenting before. That cue is nice. Snakewood on the butt end is always sporty looking. I really like that you went with a plain 4 pointer too. My favorite cues are the ones that look like regular old cues from a distance and then make you drop your jaw up close. This is definitely one of those.

No problem man...i am a simple style player and it is a very old school style but when you take the cue in youre hands is just beauty.....the work on this cue is just perfect and everything white is ivory...included butt cap.
Refinish is so good...i never feel something like that before
thx

I hope I don't ruffle feathers by saying this, but the inlays look machined. Perhaps he's farming out some of his work? For more than one person to say their cue is ready, well...:grin-square:

Don`t worry.....the inlays are cut with machine (i think ) but just perfect....
Thx

Ernie does ALL the work. Not only doesn't he farm anything out, there is only him at the shop. He has no employees. He produces in batches, and that is the reason people tend to get their orders filled around the same time. It's just the way he works. If you place an order from him and he's working on his current group of cues, then your order goes in the next run and he might not even start on it for a few months. It's been a while. I had a cue in the run before this and that was about a year ago. Now would probably be a good time to place an order, assuming he hasn't already closed the books on his next run.

I don't get up to his shop as much as I'd like, but I'm sure some of the guys around here can add (or subtract) to what I've said.

Great explaining....The guy should go to www.theactionreport.com and to take look on 84min interwiew with the legend of cue making...
Maybe then he would understand the way of ERNIE`S work.
