Just had to share Sandcastle Billiards a family poolhall

I was at Sandcastle Billiards here in New Jersey and my daughter was along....First time ever in a pool hall....first time ever seeing a table...the only thing she knows is Daddy goes and plays pool...


She asks can she try it and before I can turn around, Eddie being the pool hall owner he is has pulled out his sons custom cue and has it together and goes to find something she can stand on....

Next thing I know shes dropping balls in the side pocket and screaming YES! with every ball drop.

I don't know if I should smack Eddie or give him a bottle of Loki....but he may have created a monster....

Thirty minutes later . . .

Thirty minutes later this would have been a great start to my day. As it is it is a great finish. Nice to read some positive things. Looks like Eddie knows a thing or two about working with children and I think your daughter is on her way.

What length and weight cue do you need and how much pink coral? :D :D :D

Well she is 5 and 46" tall....you tell me....lol...shes a purple lover though so might have to go with pink coral and purpleheart...

Efren likes a stick to reach his mustache so I think that measurement is out! I seem to remember a lot of growing in the next couple of years so I'd probably make a cue a full 46" she would probably get a kick out of it being as tall as she is. Smaller diameter than normal and just balance the cue in proportion to the length and let the weight fall where it will. Could be a fun project for somebody!

R - Thanks for the props. Your daughter is an absolute doll! She is so outgoing and precious, it was my absolute pleasure to show her a thing or two and start building her confidence with some easy ball pocketing. We need to spark new interest and new blood in the sport before it dies completely!

Thank you Chaz. This used to be a game of the nobles before it got stamped as a game for degenerates only. I refuse to accept that!

You're absolutely right about R's daughter being a doll. I wish there was sound so you could hear how her little voice and great personality reinforces that! Simply adorable!!!
 
Ed is probably one of the nicest guys I've met. Last year I visited his poolroom, and he welcomed me with open arms.

Thanks! You're too kind! Just look how cute she is!!! I just couldn't resist! I want to hook her up with my 9 year old son. He likes to take care of younger kids. He'll have to spot her the 7 ball at least though. LOL
 
When I saw the picture of you and your daughter I thought of my youngest son when he was that age and I got a little vaklempt. Hold on to that picture. You'll really appreciate it when you're my age.
 
There is actually video...had to finish Gradys first episode though and then Ill edit it and throw it up here...
