Just my opinion on the commentary.

where can I hear the earl commentary?

I heard Earl's commentary on one of the live stream broadcasts about 7-8 weeks ago. I believe it was one of the tournaments from Steinway Billiards where he is a house pro. But, I could be wrong about that. It may have been another tourney.
I don't know that it was published on YouTube or somewhere else. Maybe someone else can shed light on that.

Something I've learned:

There will always be people who hate the commentary and people who love the commentary. Pool commentators very often are not paid so the talent pool for this position is often times difficult to find. With the free streams, one thing that I try to do is mix it up as much as possible with different commentators so that it stays varied. This also serves as sort of a testing ground for new talent who are soon to be discovered.

People say that Pool is a boring game to commentate. I do not agree with this at all. Stating that there's only so much action one can cover and that certain rule changes, killed any real drama to the game is a cop-out. Thanks for letting me know though. When I need commentators, I'll be sure to look elsewhere. If you can't stay in the moment, observe the emotions or the performances of the players, know some of their history; then you will probably lose the audience to threads like these.

A good example to learn from would be network coverage of a major PGA event. Most golf commentators get it. You don't need to tell the viewers what they can see for themselves, tell them something they don't know or can't see. And the bigger the moment the less you should say.
