Justis Case Knockoff

You guys sound like little kids. *****ing and complaining about what someone has done or what you think that someone has done.

If you have a legitimate gripe about product infringment - just go get a lawyer. Your dirty laundry is not much appreciated here. This is not the place for he said / she said.

I get it.

Speaking of copies. I see that you shoot with Les Blevins. I was once sold one of those that wa represented to me as a SouthWest and I sold it further as a SouthWest. My friend who bought it sent it to Laurie who of course told my friend that it was not a SouthWest.

When I went back to the source he said oh yeah, it's a Les Blevins and was made in SouthWest's shop while he worked there.

I called Laurie and she told me that was BS.

Now, I don't know Les Blevins, nor do I know to this day if that cue was actually a Les Blevins or who made it. All I know is that it was made to LOOK like SouthWest and as good enough to fool me and my friend who is much more knowledgeable than I. But it wasn't good enough to fool Laurie.

So while everybody is on the kick about how bad copying is remember that it's not only an Asia thing - sometimes it's homegrown and costs a lot more.

John you are a piece of work ! Instroke cases were never in the same league as Justis cases. Jack will always have the best cases ! If you are anybody in pro pool you have a Justis. I would like to see a list of all the pros with a justis. And to attack Jack with your words is way out of line ! Blow him out of the water years ago ! Don't make me laugh, with your machine made crap ! Or now in Japan you moved up to Kid labor !

I don't like this kind of thread but...

As those who like me tried to wrestle with Predator on fixed pricing and distribution have found out, Trademarks are powerful tools for protecting one's distribution, pricing, etc in this country. Maybe the artisan makers need to get together and figure out a workable solution they can all work within for trademarking their designs and plastering their names and trademarks conspicuously on their products. To fight of the swarm, you must band together and not fight amongst yourselves. Then, if an importer decides to try and counterfeit their cases with their obvious trademark logos or names, the US Government will be obliged to step in and blacken their eyes. This could also result in huge monetary damages being awarded to the offended. Talk to the people at Predator and see what they think about Trademarks.

PS. The trade imbalance is not only in goods, but jobs being shipped overseas while at the same time legal and illegal workers being imported by the hundreds of thousands here. Nothing we didn't allow as we have become complacent, fat, and happy to the bell of liberalism, fast food, and cheap Wal-Mart prices. When will people say enough is enough?

They (overseas) have been knocking off Antiques and Collectibles for a VERY long time and dealers representing 'reproduction' items as authentic has run rampant thoughout shops worldwide, far longer than their assault on pool products.... I dealt with it for 12 years
Doug
( the only way to fight it is through education of the consumers )

I think this is a better way..
