Justis case trick

Let me start by saying I really like Justis cases , I think they're great in every why . The only problem that I had was with my bumperless cue , I didn't like hear it bang the bottom when inserted into the tube . I looked and searched for different fixes and didn't come up with anything that I was interested in doing , so I came up with a simple fix that I figured I would share in case anyone else had the same problem.
The fix is a foam golf ball , the kind designed for indoor or limited flight distance outside . I took a razor blade and cut the ball in half , and then cut it again 3/8" from the first cut to form a disk . Then I used the tube on the case to determine where to trim the outside so it would fit snug in the tube . After trimming I took on of my house cue and pushed it to the bottom and there is my easy fix for my cue beating the hard bottom when put in the case .
The golf ball foam is more dense than regular foam so it should hold up for a long time , hope this helps anyone that has the same problem as I did .

When I bought my Justis case, Jack told me to place cues and shafts in "joint protectors up". Never thought of a bumperless butt. Good solution!

Bumperless

Jack told me to put the cue in slower so it doesn't slam into the bottom:) He also said he tried rubber/foam (can't remember which) but it dry rotted and made a mess.
I don't like the sound it makes either. I like your idea, hopefully the foam holds up.

I hope it holds up also , the foam that these golf balls are made of is very thick and dense , so I think it should last a long . Especially since there will not be any wet or harse conditions surrounding it .

Very creative. Im reluctant to put bumperless cues in the JJ so now I will follow through with this. Thanks for posting.

Your welcome, it works real nice . I hated hearing my Gilbert slam solid when I would put it in the case .

The foam those fun noodles are made of might work too. My first case (don't remember the make) had rubber pads on springs in the bottom. Slide a butt or shaft in and it would bounce a little when it hit bottom.

so I put a Hoppe Tribute in butt first and and went oh boy...not good. But now I will confidently enjoy my JJ /Callaway

Sweet case !! Hope this let's you enjoy it more .
The swim noodle might work , I just figure that foam golf balls are made to be hit full speed with a golf club so they have to be pretty tuff ... 😎

Maybe try the spacers that Whitten provides. They are of good quality and each have a hole in them so you can pull them out with the stick they also provide.

I think Jack told me to wad up a paper towel and shove it down there... not the most elegant solution, but paper isn't likely to deteriorate, plus my cue does have a bumper, so it isn't as critical.
