Justis Cues Cases

My prized case is this palamino color suede and alligator Justis from 1994. I liked the fact that the case was stuffed with old newspapers to date it. The case was originally made for IndyQ and has never been used!

Also on the page is a shot of Steve Feld's rare zebra Justis and a couple others. The most interesting case is on the lower left, one of Jack's early jobs in mint condition owned by Steve Feld.

Ps. Jack has some pretty cool new pocket designs to match cue inlays too.

Anyone received a Justis Cue Case recently, or long ago, and care to post the photos of their prized procession?

If you can find a copy of the October 2005 Issue of InsidePOOL Magazine, there was an article on Jack Justis and his cases. Lots of case photos.

Justis case

I just received my new multifunction prolite last week. It has a medium brown lid, pockets and back with a black body. I have wanted a Justis for a long long time and decided to go all out. I got the extra 8' pocket, extra tooling, scroll tooling, shoulder pad and name lasered on there. Jack did an excellent job on the case. He tooled my initials onto the shoulder pad and on the 8' pocket there is a crest of arms. The crest was also put on the back of the case in the middle of the tooling.

Completion time was quite remarkable as well. Probably took a week maybe two at the maximum.

I don't have photos handy but I was thinking about taking some in a couple of days. The new cases are really nice. Very light for what it is. The interior is very well thought out as well. Hard to believe that 4x8 will fit in there. Basically, you can fit a number of configurations in there depending on what you need to carry. Cues are well separated and do not jostle around. Cues fit with jps on there. No thought of it scratching finish or anything like that. In the two outside slots you can put 3 shafts or a butt and shaft. Jack put the photos up on how they go in.

The lid snaps on tight and it is highly unlikely it will come out. The lid is really solid. My buddy has a Justis tube case and the body of the case is supple. The leather is actually pliable. My case is very firm. Footprint of it is small as well. Does not seem like a 4/8.

My jump butt does fit in the 16' pocket. I got everything in the Justis that I had in my 4/8 porper. I have a spinali, contact solution, dozen master chalk box (fits with just a touch of bulge), contacts, course sandpaper in an envelope, small tube of hand lotion, loose chalk, change, pen, joint protectors and a few other items. Zippers have little brass chain like things attached to them for access. The pockets are compact and are different than whitten or porper cases, but you can get everything in without weird bulges.

Loaded the case is clearly not as heavy as the Justis tube cases.

I would highly recommend getting one if you are interested. Jack is very clear in his communications. I am going to keep the packaging and receipt. I like the old photos of cues/cases with receipts. I also tore the corner off one of the newspapers that come stuffed in the pockets. I saw someone else do that and it seemed like the same sort of nostalgia.
