Hum, you may not be old enough to recognize the take off.

I haven't has a chance to use mine yet. I like anything that has different drills that I have not used or thought of.

3 1/2 Days till we leave for the APA Nationals. Chompin' at the metal bridge, uh bit. :D

Later, Pel

Hey Pel,
I already gave the pool room heads up on the checks coming in. It caught them a bit off guard and I had to explain why someone, several states away was entering a pool tourny that they didn't intend to be present for. LOL! So now if cardboard cut outs arrive, at least they've been warned.

Bring back a big trophy, some cool pics & wholelottadough (not to be confused with a wholelatte'dough) from the Nationals. ;)

Special thanks to Dr. D for the workbook. It's going to make some lucky winner a happy shooter.

Michelle

You guys are relentless with the cardbord cut-out thing. Just make sure my cardbord stand in is good lookin'. I'm willing to autograh any pics after Pelican and I win, LOL!

And Pelican, a group of guys from my bar will be up in Vegas with you. Four Corners club should be their name. They're a good group of folks, maybe you'll see 'em around.

I would also like to thank Dr. D. She has donated a Billiards Workbook.

You are all awesome.

And don't worry, the cardboard cut-outs are a definite.

Thanks again and take care,
Sarah

No sir. :D (They might be able to figure it out though, I dunno.)

As for your cut out, I think you should use Arnold's body and Bob Saget's (from the 80's show Full House) head. That away you can look like that guy from the 6 pack abs infomercial. :p

And now, a word TO our sponsors.

I'd like to thank Holiday Inn, for donating 2 suites. And I REALLY wish to thank America's Physique Gym,Spa & Tanning for donating 2 free day passes for Alice & Sarah.

But that's not all folks. America's Physique also donated 30 day free membership passes for the first 200 people through the door. Again, that's TWO HUNDRED, FREE 30 DAY MEMBERSHIPS!!! An $11,000 donation. THAT'S AWESOME!

It looks like the cardboard cut outs are a go, too.

It happens to be Nascar weekend here in Brooklyn, Mi. (Jackson's neighbor) And the cardboard cut outs abound.

Which driver would you guys like to be? :D

Ooooo! Does Richard Petty have a mullet? I wanna mullet. Find one with a mullet and I'll send a purdy yellow dress to sick on it. There ain't nothin' like mullets and purdy yellow dresses. Hot, hot, hot!

Michelle,

You are really working hard. I truly hope that I can work just as hard when I get there.

The Gym and spa passes are really cool. I think everyone will really appreciate those.

As for the cut outs....Landshark...the mullet would be great. Leave it to you to think of something like that.

Take care,
Sarah

I'm working as hard as I can. I was able to get a local radio station to donate free air time for advertisement. I was also able to get the local newspaper to advertise it and a tentative committment to be there on the day of the event to take photo's and do a write up. ( Maybe I should take this promotion stuff up as a hobby :D )

I think one of our trophy shops are going to donate 3 trophy's or plaques.

Now I'm working on getting pony rides and a moonwalk donated for the kids. But it's a hard one to call because the tourny falls on laborday weekend. Those things may already be spoken for. I'm going to try my hardest though.

FYI Pelican- I gave 'em the heads up that you might be flyin' around. Good luck over there.

Thank you to everyone for donating to such a great cause. Now everyone can enter the tournament and the raffles and win without being there. We are going to need alot of cardboard cut-outs.

Take care,
Sarah

It's great isn't it?

I went down to the TV station today and they are going to run a Public Service Announcement, up until the day of the tournament. It runs 24/7 in our local area.

Everything is coming along nicely. Did I ever fax you the flyer, Sarah?

You are either a persistant woman or live in a great community, or both. We've done similar stuff in my community and you had to pull people's arms off to help contribute...especially the media. I feel like you should be thanked for your dedication, determination, and hard work; so thank you.

Hey landshark77,

Thank you for the thank you. And thanks for the check. They got it a couple of days ago, complete with instructions. You are awesome.

As far as persistance and great community or both, I'd have to say both.
This is the first time I have ever undertaken such a task and I'm rather pleased with the response of contributors.

Our county has a high number of Juvenile Diabetes cases and the fundraising efforts for this cause are pretty familiar to most residents here. I have participated in the fundraising and walks for quite a few years now, but this year I decided to incorporate something I really love (pool) for something I really love (kids).

I dubbed it the 1st Annual, while praying that it would be successful enough to do it every year. I have to say that I'm impressed with the success that I've already seen, such as donations like yours and Pelicans, and the tournament is still more than a week away.

I can safely assume that this is something I will do every year.

Thankfully there are people like Sarah and Alice Rim who are generously giving their time to generate more interest. It's great for this cause and great for pool.

Thank you again for the thank you, But thank you! Maybe next year you can visit Michigan and play in person. ;)

Glad it arrived OK, hope I wasn't too anal with those instructions. ;)

We have done a few tourney fundraisers for events I have been involved with. The turn out has been decent, mostly friends of those involved, but we had fun and I guess that is all that matters. :) I am interested in talking with you about your efforts in this event. Especially your fundraising efforts and format, time, and player draw tourney wise. I do not intend on going into detail here, as I do not want to hijack this thread. (I hope I haven't already. :o ) I do hope everything goes smoothly next weekend.

You're welcome. <- doesn't feel that she should be thanked, as she hasn't done a thing, but will accept just to end the thanking war. *cough* no thank you *cough* :D
