K66 or K55 for Brunswick Gold Crown III?

Hi guys,

I recently bought a GCIII from a room that went out of business. The cushions need to be replaced and I read somewhere that the K66 profile is NOT recommended for Brunswick tables but when I removed the cloth on the rails, it was K66.

So is the K66 correct or should I be ordering the K55?

Thanks

Wrong cushions to begin with, K55's are the correct cushions...now for the more important question...were the rail bevel's recut to take the k66 cushions, because if they were...then the sub-rails are going to need to be rebuilt to take the K55's again.

Thanks Glen,

I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure if the bevels were recut. How can I tell? If I had to guess, I would say they were not recut. The table came out of a large pool room/entertainment complex that didn't exactly spend a lot of money to keep up the tables. When the cushions were replaced I'm sure they wouldn't have spent extra money to have the bevels recut just to save a few dollars buying a cheaper cushion. I could be wrong but...

Would the mechanic that installed the cushions have been able to use the K66 without doing a recut? The table played ok other than 2 dead cushions. Can I just use the K66 when replacing them. What exactly IS the difference between the K66 and the K55?

Thanks,
Tom

It's just under 1 1/2" but maybe a little closer to 1 7/16"

that probably means they were modified to take k-66. but they should have been modified to take k-55 because that is the correct cushion for that subrail thickness ...

so you can put k-66 on again or have the subrails modified to take k-55 which would be more correct for the table.

that's my understanding anyway, but RKC can tell you more about that.
