Kamui clear question

I was at the BCA event and had a worn Kamui black tip replaced with a new Kamui clear. Now I have my ferrule, a black pad, a clear pad and then the tip. I'm wondering if maybe the installer did not remove the black pad. I've looked on the internet and seen pictures of black, clear, tip and then others with just the clear pad and tip. Which is correct? I'm thinking at because it's an OB2 shaft, the black pad needs to remain since it may be part of the shaft and not the tip.

All OB Shafts use a Carbon Fiber Pad between the tip and ferrule.
While they don't have to be replaced each time you replace the tip,
occasionally they do get cut down too thin and need to be replaced.

You don't need the carbon pad if you went with the kamui clear. Because it comes with its own pad, it might not be as strong as the carbon fiber pad but it will be just fine. So you don't need both.

All OB shafts do require our Carbon Fiber pad.

Last I checked, clear plastic is not Carbon Fiber, so it isn't a sufficient replacement.

Keep the pad.

Thanks Royce. It looked a little odd so I'm glad I asked before having it removed. Appreciate the feedback.
