About 6-7 months ago, I put a Kamui soft on one shaft and a Sniper on the other. (Same shaft type, 314-2)
At first they felt very similar and difficult to tell the difference. Now after time, the Sniper is noticably harder than the Kamui soft, but not extremely different. The Kamui seems to have stayed closer to it's original installation feel than the Sniper.
They are both great tips and don't seem to differ that much as far as performance or miscues. I rub the tip with a dime shaper each time I play for clean up and to keep things even.
I would say both very good quality tips. Right now, I like the way the Kamui soft feels. The Sniper makes the cue ring when you hit it, which is okay for some, but to me it seems to exaggerate the difference in feel between the low deflection shaft and a regular solid shaft. The Kamui soft just doesn't ring the cue as much and feels a little more like a heavy punch than a sharp hit, which I like, but others may not.
Hope this helps and good luck!
