Kamui tip difference

I have been using Kamui Black tips for awhile now. I have noticed the slight price difference between the brown and black tips, with the black being slightly more expensive. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a major difference between the two, or is it just the color that's different. I appreciate any help.

I've been using the clear for couple of weeks and really been impressed with it so far.

Thanks for the input so far. I may just give in and order one of the brown tips to try out.

Do your self a favor and get a Kamui Black Clear tip in a soft rating.......it's amazing.......I have five of these on two of my cues which include
2 super soft plus the 3 soft tips in Kamui Black Clear......the best tip I've ever used and I've tried dozens of brands over the past 50 years.

I have a regular Kamui Black soft tip on my cue now. Was just thinking of trying the brown Kamui tip to see if there's a difference. I haven't tried many tips since I've been playing. Mostly Triangle tips, Moori when I first started using Predator, had a Predator tip for about a week, and now the Kamui Black tips that I've been using. Guess I'm just searching to find the right tip with the feel that makes me say, "My search is over!" Lol

The Kamui black is done with a different tanning process and leather treatment to improve the amount of resilience in them over the brown...
both versions will harden up over time from impacts if you go with the soft or medium.. That pretty consistent tho for most brands of tips....

The clear is a new twist.. You can get the black or brown in the clear version... The idea is the clear layer keeps the glue from wicking up into the tip and causing hard spots... I think it's just a marketing hook as the layers are already glued together and at most it may wick into the bottom layer of the tip... Given that it does look nice and gives their tips a visual identifyer when you see them on someone's cues...

I've played a with a few different Kamui Blacks, don't like any of them. Kamui Brown H all the way for me.

The black was marketed originally as more moisture resistant. Thus not getting softer when playing in higher humidity environments.
Checked their website and its not there anymore so must not have been true.

i am using medium kamui clear and i hate it.regular medium kamui black is still better.i thought the kamui clear has inconsistent feel when the hit the CB.well it was me.i am sure we all have our own preferences.
