Kamui Tip Differences

I have used lots of tips over the past 50+ years of playing pool.

The best tips made were the original Moori brown that haven't been produced for years and the current version Moori tips just aren't as good....IMO.

I have been playing Kamui tips since end of 2011. My Prewitt cue has original Moori brown tips...... absolutely the best of any tips but are no longer made. However, after original Moori tips,, it's Kamui all the way.

For awhile, I was playing with Kamui Black medium tips but I switched to Kamui Clear Black 2 1/2 years and also changed the hardness to soft and super soft........Wow.......absolutely much better to use instead of the Kamui Black medium I was previously playing.......the Kamui Clear series of tips really should be ranked #1 since the original Moori brown tips aren't made any longer.

I have purchased all my Kamui tips from Tom (Shooter 08) whom is just a great guy and Azer......he's a authorized Kamui Dealer, offers the best prices, fast shipping and great service.......OMG.....why would you ever want to buy anywhere else?

Anyway, Tom helped me switch to a softer version tip in the Kamui Clear series and he was right.....Definitely go a little softer when you try the Kamui Clear tips........all of my cues have Kamui Clear soft & super soft except for my Prewitt cue which has the fabulous original Moori brown tips no longer made.

Same here.., Kamui Black Clear all the way..

One more for the Clear train here ;)

I have tried a ton of different tips as I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the "feel" of my cues. After going through a mountain of different tips and an astronomical summ of €uros spent on them I have come to the conclusion that the Kamui Clears, Originals and blacks are the tips that work for me. Medium and hard are great with the blacks and medium seems to be my favourite with the originals. I slightly prefer the looks on the originals and the sound of hit is a bit different too. Will see how the brown holds up over time, as I have only had it on for a couple of days now.
The browns are a bit more traditional feeling than the blacks are, cant really say it better to describe the difference.
I think that you should try out for yourself wich one feels right for you as we will all disagree when trying to come up with the best playing tip. Our tastes are differ from those of others and thankfully so

The Kamui products are expensive. I don't think anyone can argue that, but they all LAST. I use a Kamui SS Clear tip, Kamui .98 chalk and the Gator grip. I've never had a Kamui tip mushroom or glaze. The chalk lasts because it stays on the tip, with proper maintenance with the Gator grip. You don't have to chalk after every shot (I only do once per match), so the chalk lasts me about a year and I play at least 3 days a week. Yes, their products are expensive, but that's like buying a Mercedes and not bothering to change the oil.

Lol bro, without oil change, even MB will fail, just like miss cue..
Not a so good example.
You guys must have a soft stroke.
My kamui glaze and mushroom like crazy, without a tip tool.
I don't have that problem with other tips, like lepro, everest, milk duds etc.
The feeling is not bad althrough the tip does feels harder after 1 month play.
And when it is harder, it doesn't hold as much chalk as before, maybe it is just me.

I can't recommend milkduds enough, make sure to get them from pooldawg8. At $3 you've got to try it. If that doesn't float your boat, I'd give Ki-tech a shot. I have both tips installed on my cues and can't pick which one I like better.

I do not have a sift stroke, my stroke is pretty string when it needs to be.

Hahaha, you got me, forgive my fat fingers..
It won't mushroom?
Maybe I should give Kamui mid a second chance.
I still won't touch kamui soft any more, even when it is free.

The black medium seems softer to me than most other brands of medium I've tried, the soft would be way too soft for me.

I feel just the opposite. The medium feels a lot harder to me than most mediums. I like the soft and super soft better, and like the G2 better than those.

Kamui Medium tips are harder than other brands Medium rating.
I have installed all Kamui tips and have them all in stock and can compare Kamui to Zan, G2, Moori, all the Tiger tips, Longoni Fuji Modena, Camogli, Super Pro, Navigator and a few others.
Kamui Clear original machines very nicely, keeps it`s shape, if you cut it down to a reasonable size and carefully burnish the sides. Clear original has a more yellow coloured leather than the regular Kamui Original tips, wich are a very light tan colour.
I can`t really feel a difference between Clear original and original.
Kamui Clear Black are generally a tad harder than their Clear Original counterparts, they hold their shape really well, but don`t hold chalk as good as the Kamui Original tips.

Considering the huge amounts of tips Kamui produce, they have pretty good consistency from batch to batch.

Lately I`ve started getting more requests for the Original and Original Clear tips, it seems that the black cue tip novelty has wore off.
