John, I know plenty about you. More than you care for anyone else to know but since you replied in such an adult manner I think I will join in the fun.
John Collins, correct? Used to own Instroke cases? Used to is the key here. What happened? Either you (1) didn't sell enough cases, (2) sold lots of cases but then squandered all your money with your gambling habit or (3) got taken when you sold the company so now you work for someone else. The someone else being Fury and are like their little puppet doing what you are told. The owner of Fury has lots of money....hope he pays you well to make you work for him after you stopped working for yourself. Why didn't you retire with all the money you must've made 'selling thousands of cues' and then selling your business. Shall I keep looking in the 'can of worms' as you like to say. Lets see...OH, and when you were with Instroke you cheated a friend of mine out of $300 by never sending him a cue he ordered so he just walked up to your booth at a show, asked for his money, and when you didn't give it up....he took one of your cases and you just stood there. Shall I keep going? Sure, why not? Sledgehammer used to be made overseas but are now made in the USA, by McDermott I believe. Tell us Johnny, where are Fury cues made?? I won't wait for your answer. They are still made overseas in some third world factory for pennies. Am I correct? Lets look down in this can of worms some more. Yes you can give jump exhibitions but lessons in pool in general, I think not. Care to play me some? We can play some 9 ball....NO JUMP CUES ALLOWED. Ha. I'm just a pitiful C player, but I will try you some.
I don't know about your offer of gambling for $5000 on jump and break shots by neutral players. Too many variables. I say we do this...at the next Pro tournament, I will pick a player that uses a Sledgehammer break cue and you can pick a player that uses a Fury break cue (if there is one???). We can bet $5000 that the player I pick goes farther in the tournament.
And, as usual you seek to misdirect the debate. But, since you don't know when to quit I'll play till you give up.
1. I used to own Instroke and I sold it. You don't need to know why but it had nothing to do with gambling or lagging sales. I got out of it just fine and now I "work" for Scott Taylor because I can focus on creating great products rather than worrying about the whole company. I am just not that bright of a businessman that I can run a company.
2. What the hell are you talking about? I never took anyone's $300 and had them "take" a case from me at a booth. If I ever owed anyone anything then it was paid for. Whatever situation you are talking about is certainly NOT the way you are representing it here. Why don't you name names so we can get the REAL story? I certainly never had someone order a cue and not send them the cue unless there was some good reason. And even then I would have worked with them to resolve it. So let's hear the details before you make more baseless accusations. You are a real piece of work.
3. Are the Sledgehammers that were made overseas also the "best"? How do we know the ones you have are the ones made here? How can you tell the difference? How about the consumers who were never told that the Sledgehammers they bought were made overseas? Did you ever sell any of the ones made overseas? Did you tell the customer? Nah, I didn't think so Mr. Ethics. Next time you want to wrap yourself in the flag make sure you wash yourself first so you don't soil it.
4. The bet. Yep, that's what I thought. You have no gamble to back up your mouth. Sure, I'll play you without a jump cue. You need it more than me. I was beating on suckers like you without a jump cue before I started selling them and I won't have any problem beating you now. Think you can get your nit ass down to North Carolina to play some? Oh I know, I have to come to St. Louis, blah, blah and I can bet as much as I want and yada, yada, yada. Tell you what. Lets make a date in North Carolina and set up an amount. I'll paypal the amount to Mike Howerton and you do the same. Whoever doesn't show up loses the money. I don't care that you have completely gotten off the subject of your ludicrous claim that the Sledgehammer is the "best" and the how we are oppressing poor Mike. Whatever it takes to get a nit like you to the table is fine with me. Not only has the truth come out but I get to pummel you on the pool table. That's a good day. But, you won't show up. So happy crawfishing.
5. The pro bet. You have a bet. I'll take Kelly Fisher. Who are you taking? How much do you want to bet? Come on now, belly up and show some gamble.
Any takers on how ludicrous his response is?
John Barton - by the way I go by my REAL NAME. What's yours?
