I saw a seller that makes custom cues and they sell on Ebay very cheap! They sound very nice but I am quite skeptical. I have a very nice cue that I shoot with but would like to have a few extras for the house and friends to borrow when shooting at my home.
He has over 400 positive feedback and 0 negative..
If anyone has any experience with these cues, please let me know...

didn't i just read this same thread on billiard digest's board?
Yes, you did.. Not everyone subscribes to both Bulletins. It is good to get a variety of opinions. No one has replied on CCB.. Thanks for any help I can get.
:)

I have a KC-5 I got pretty cheap... seems like the market is getting flooded so much with these cues that they are selling a lot cheaper than they are probably worth. I like the hit of it a lot, and they claim to use moori tips. Im not sure how to be positive on that, but it is a layered hard tip for sure.

The only problems Ive got with mine is that the ferrule isn't quite perfecly alligned with the shaft, which I would expect to see better even on a cheap production cue. Pretty sure that KC is less custom than it is production anyways. The shaft is a little thicker than 13mm, but that just takes a little getting used to. I also didnt like the excessive amount of coating on the shaft, but that was taken care of quite fast with some fine sandpaper.

They really are damn nice hitting cues, especially for the money. Just not sure if they'll ever be worth anything, if that matters to you.

Personally I went back to my Viking, as I like the taper better.

You couldn't be more right JJ. The reason I built a homemade lathe was just for the reason you mention. The ferrule on the KC Custom cue I bought, on Ebay, was a hair larger than the shaft. This was easily sanded down to the same size as the shaft in about 3 mins. I can't make cues on the lathe but it works perfectly for what I want to do with it and I only have about $40 in the whole thing, including shaft pins and adaptors. Photo attached.

Thats pretty cool Hemi.

What is that you've got, just a variable speed motor you adapt to joint pins? Right now I move around too much, but in about 4 months I'm moving near Malibu California, and should be there for the next few years. I might just have to build me something like that. Great idea man.

Can I ask where you got the pins and adapters for that?

Brand new single speed 1/6hp, 850rpm motor cost $9.95 on ebay. Ships for $5. It turns pleanty fast enough to do shaft work. The accessory kit cost the most, $30. Ships for $3.95. Adaptors and 3 pin sizes come with the kit. Just added it up. Guess I have $50+ in it with the rubber rollers and steel sleeve inserts. Had the wood, nuts and bolts. All I did was copy what a friend of mine did. He posts here and at SouthernBilliards.com under the handle, Hotrodjack. Photo of the accessory kit below.
