KC custom cues

I bought a high end KC once for around 80.00 It was decent. I put it back on ebay and got my money back out of it. I had two of the cheaper ones also like you're talking about. I sold them both to a kid in a pool room. They made a decent break cue. Would I buy one again? Probably not.

2. Cue hits nice. Nothing super, but fine.
3. The KC stays in the car now, just in case. Last I checked it hadn't warped. When I need it, I've got a cue in the car. If it does warp, who cares?
Can you get points, a wrap, and 2 shafts for $75.00 elsewhere? Not easily, so it's not a bad deal. But I'd probably rather have a Dufferin Sneaky Pete for the same or less (If you buy one on Ebay, make sure it's a full length cue. For whatever reason, they sell a lot of short Dufferins there.)

I bought one of those KC custom cues for I think it went for $68 + shipping. I shot with it for about 15 minutes. Put it in my case, then gave it away a month after that. I hated everything about it but the looks. Feel was HORRIBLE!!! IMHO

Very pretty cue. Stiff as a brick, too stiff for my tastes, especially at the time. Was difficult for me to get action on the cue ball, most likely due to the dynamics of the shaft, and my rather limited stroke. Actually, it was a bear to shoot table length stop shots, where the object ball was hanging on the lip of a corner pocket.
With a modest retapering of the shaft, the cue can really perform however.
After I retapered one of the shafts, the cue could do amazing things. Very sweet, soft hit. A friend of mine who has a number of cues, a Schuler among them, prevailed upon me and offered me $250 for the cue with two shafts. Although I didn't really want to sell it, I let him buy it. He loves it.
So there you have it.
I might just buy another one...

The quality of your break shot is in no way proportional to the cost of your cue. The cue my friend has doesn't have any points and looks fairly decent, althought I can easily distinguish it from a more expensive cue, and works very well as a break cue. I think it might've been designed as one, since the tip is so hard and the hit is very stiff.

I bought a KC on e bay for $36.00. Didn't like the full taper, so I had a 9" pro taper cut on the shaft for $20.00. Been shooting with it for about a year & I get great english & have no problem with it. Some of my friends tried it & think it shoots nicely. I've been shooting for around 40 years & never owned a stick that I paid more than $150.00 for.
KC for House Cues
A friend got a home table and needed some house sticks. I bought 4 plain KC sticks off eBay for $100.00 (2 19 oz., 2 20 oz.) and gave them to him. We tried them out and they were barely ok. I replaced all four tips with fresh LePro's and they hit much better. I think they're better than regular 1 pc. house cues. The linen wraps aren't pressed and they aren't applied very well. I think they're worth $30.00 each (cues + new tips). We'll see how they hold up over time.
