Mark...This is exactly why I suggested to you that getting a lesson with a qualified instructor would help you a LOT. As I mentioned, I'll be in NYC next week (Wed and Thurs), and I will come out to Long Island if you want. It's an investment in your game that will pay big dividends in years to come. One thing you'll learn is why you keep missing these key shots, and how to self-correct that error immediately. Call me if you want to schedule something, as my time is very limited.

I am curious to know how an instructor can solve this problem. I am thinking that this is more psychological than physical. Or, am I wrong? Is it a combination of both? This type of thing happens in other sports like baseball, for example, when a batter freezes up or gets the jitters in a tight situation. Also, a pitcher that pitches lights out when he is ahead, but can't get the ball over the plate if he is behind a couple of runs. These guys are sent to sports psychologists to help sort out the problem.
I would be willing to spend the money for an instructor if I knew that it would solve the problem. It has been a real problem for me. I don't often get beat, but I lose too often. In other words, I give the game away on the last ball or two. Very interesting to hear how others have solved this.
