Keith McCready

Hey stick 8, remember the bible story about about the father who gave his children their inheritance early and then left town. One burried his, one whored around and partied his away, and the other went out and made some wise investments and doubled his money. Well, when daddy came home, guess who he was pissed at. You and Ted H. better get ready cause when Big Daddy comes home you all gonna get a ASS WHIPPING. Oh saint Ted, the cue butcher, arn't we all high and mighty. Mr. goody goody. Arn't we smug.
God bless ALL, including you two fools and my friend Keith.

Hey Don,

Whether or not you care about it, Keith's past and present life does count! It is people with mind sets like yours that cheer for Koby Bryant when he probably is guilty of a terrible crime. Oh yeah, poor OJ. Keith makes no bones about his character and attitute. It still does not make it right. You can imagine Keith winning this tournament, only sponsored by Budweiser. You'd think its funny. I don't think they would. You would never see Keith in one of their commercials! He probably owns 10% of their stock by over the counter purchase (and I don't mean NYSE). And there in is the problem with pool. The great entertainers are the players least presentable to the major advertisers. In case you think I'm against Keith, Virtually everyone here at Classic Billiards including Bosco, Richie, Julio and I are rooting for him! I just can't get by his sidelines.

Way to go Keith

Way to go Keith, keep up the good work. Chicago can hear the Earthquake coming now!

Bob and Eydie

I'm rooting for Keith but not to win the Open. I'm rooting for him to be successful at permanantly cleaning his life up. Good luck and keep your head straight!

Dear Donald,
Yeah, I must be a real fool for accepting money for my services, instead of drugs. That's my choice, and I am proud of it. Not every cue repairman accepts drugs for services. Just wanted to clarify that in my previous post. I just thought that you were generalizing a little bit, and didn't want any misunderstandings with the readership here. When a player gets low on funds, I just do the work pro bono.
I don't know what I did to deserve your attack. Maybe it's because I wouldn't give you a big enough discount or something? As far as me being a butcher goes, I think you have me confused with the other guy.

Pretty harsh Danny and unfortunately I can't disagree with you. Most of us root for the underdog and Keith was certainly an underdog because like you said, he really hasn't won any big tournaments, at least not latley. The few times I've been around him, he's been embroiled in controversy whether it's with the tournament folks, his backer or other players. It's too bad because he does have talent.

You won't get any argument from me. I feel pretty much the same way. He's got a rough edge but he's usually right on the button. The only thing I disagree with him about is his rough edge.

Danny D, you and self rightous people like you are the really big loosers on the planet. You all should be praying for Kieth's recovery. All human beings deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. You hide behind your keyboard and judge everybody. You just don't get it man. You might try living by the golden rule. It's not your job to be the judge, it's your job to love dude. I wish you all the best. Don P.

Keith is one of the most colorful players out there. I have seen him bashed from time to time on AZ because of his substance abuse problems. Well, they sure don't seem to affect his game much. I really don't care if someone likes his beer or even smokes a joint now and them. It is not my judgement call. No one seems to talk about everyone elses habits on here. I know for a fact that some of the best players out there use to pay for their cue repair with little bags of differant substances when their money was low. They just put it in the cue repairmans drawer. They know who they are. I really don't know any pool playing saints out there. I do know that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I believe everybody is right where they are suppose to be, learning exactly what they are suppose to learn, exactly when they are suppose to learn it. That goes for all of us. Keith doesn't give a rats ass what anybody thinks about him. He is one hell of a player and a neat guy. If you don't like him, go try and take some of his money. Hell, I will back him against anyone out there. GO GET EM KEITH.
Don Purdy:)

Too many hypocrites in this country like to mind other people's business more than their own.

The only reason drugs cause problems is because they are illegal. Just like Alcohol Prohibition in the 1920s and 30s America's lunatic drug crusade is a disaster causing a hundred times the troubles drugs by themselves ever did or ever could do.

Whether McCready's recreational habits help him or hurt him is strictly his own business so long as he doesn't harm innocent bystanders.

From reading the story on the home page it looks like Keith's match was a nightmare for Alex.

Jake

This initially seemed like an innocent enough post. What happened?

how we got into a mans personal life is beyond me.all i know is it's none of my business.what keith has done in the past has no bearing on what he is doing NOW !!!!! i havn't been a part of the pool community very long and to be honest hadn't heard of keith untill i started to dig a little deeper into this wonderful sport.the man has real character !!!! this sport needs a little color and keith provides it.he has credability as a great poolplayer. "ASK THE PROS" he has never won a major tournement, but imho,he is winning one now.i will not judge him by his past,in fact,i hope to savour his experiences in his book.thanks keith for the insight you provide, thanks for the laughs, the sincerity and most of all for being yourself.we need you !!!!

Drivermaker, thank you very much. I wasn't going to post on this thread. Actually, to tell you the truth, this is the first time I've read it.

Certain people don't have anything else better to do in life than to try to bad-mouth somebody. When people are doing well, there's just certain ones that can't accept that fact. In order to beat these guys, you've got to have your head on straight and play awful well. I've been doing better in tournaments as of late, but I've always been a money player by rights.

I won the second $25,000 tournament they ever had in Binghamton, New York, and everybody that was in the stands that night had free drinks until they closed the place, until 2 o'clock in the morning, and the tab was $1,200, my gift to the fans. I like to play for the fans. When I get caught up in the midst of everything, I sort of have a tendency to get excited. I can't help that. That's just me. :p

Hey Keith, I know you gotta get tired of hearing your name dragged through the dirt by a select few but you've got so many positive things said about you that I'm sure it helps to overcome it. To hell with those that have nothing better to do or say! They might change their ways if their life was out in the open like yours and every move they made was put under a microscope and shared with the public. You're alright in my book Keith, on and off the table. Peace.

Keith is a true LEGEND. Keith was beating everyone on earth on the bar box when he was only 15 years old. Now, he is capable of beating anyone on any table. Keith is like Louie Roberts, adored by all.
