Anybody remeber these? Used to cover the table and was a big gambling game?

Jim

Played it on Thursday nights decades ago. It covered from the spot to the rail <I think>...no real skill invoved but lotsa yelling, woofing, money changing hands and good fun, brings back some fond memories...thanks.

Awhile ago this was brought up on this forum and the following website I found a page to order it for my room. Have not done it yet, still don't know if it can be revived in this day and age.

This was brought up several months ago on this forum and consequently I found the following web page if you want to read about it and or order one. Thinking about getting one for my room.

No Skill, My Ass!

There were guys that hustled Keno Boards like you wouldn't believe. Many, Many skilled shots & english involved. I hated them because they got all the suckers involved and I couldn't match up with them. Great house game though because you could get 6 or 8 players "On Time".
Same with the Poker Boards.

The place I play still has 2 keno boards!!

So how is the action on them? Do they get a lot of play and or gambling?
Do you think it would be a good idea for one in a room on the west coast. I know it won't hurt much to try. Just a couple hundy.

OHB,

Glad to hear someone has seen some skill on these. There definitely was a hustle involved.

LS77- They were all over at one time.

Used to be a similar game around called Amos & Andy. Apparently was not all luck either, road player came thru and cleaned everybody in town. That was after everybody quit him on every other game.

Love them use to play on them all the time. Alot of fun and late nights playing that game. I am going to have to order one now. BTW I think that it is alot more fun on the 9er instead of the bar boxes JMO. C-Man

Oh yeah!! Lots of gambling when they play! There is skill involved in playing keno. Lots of people think its all luck and yes it is involved but if you know how to hit it up the board and make it stick your winner! We were playing once and a guy broke hit double keno and doubled out in points! Depends who is playing, on how much the bet is. goes anywhere from $1/$2 up to $50/$100. Highest game I every saw was $250-$500 one guy lost $7500 in 45mins!!!! But that was a long time ago. The regulars that play it generally play for $20/$40 unless they are trying to rape some one then it gets higher!! Yeah every place should have a board. I will check monday I know the boards have a number on them, they were made in Pa I believe. I will post up the number when I get it!

I posted the link on my earlier post. If they are still made by Pat Sheehan, he advertises his cell phone to order one for $175.00. 503-313-8646

The boards are still around here, but people mostly play "rollerball" on them now. All a player does is try to roll high number. You take your hand, roll the ball off of the end rail and back up onto the board, trying to land the ball in the highest number on the board. Most play "Keno" pays double. If you don't think there is any skill at the game, you should have rolled against Weenie Beenie in Myrtle Beach about 15 years ago. And they always bet high on it. In fact, Weenie Beenie sold the boards. I still have one around the house somewhere. Just think, if you have 7 or 8 players rolling $30 to $50 a roll, it doesn't take long to make (or lose) a sizeable score.

And when the board comes out, there is always 100 times more woofing and barking at that game than there ever is at pool. Fun game!
