Kevin Carson Cue

[Shorty]

I called this guy Carson and inquired if he has any cues for sale. He told me he was out of the cue making business!!

I then asked if it was true that a man from Florida had sent back a cue and he owed him money for the return. He stated that he did but didn't have any money, and he had resold the cue.

He also gave me a new phone # for Shorty to call him. That # may be a phoney # as it goes to someone else.

ScottR on this board also purchased a Carson cue, that he was unhappy with. As a gesture of goodwill he sent Shorty that cue in a case that Shorty purchased from him. This was done in an attempt for Shorty to recoup some of his lost monies.

2 stand up guys that got screwed, working together to recover some $$$, and 2 seperate cues.

Everyone on this board needs to call this Carson guy and bust his chops to recover Shorty's money. the correct # is posted in Shorty's earlier post.

Thanks Joe, and I didn't wanna use your name without your permission. I sent my Carson back indeed and he agreed to refund me my 240. The Carson I am trying to trade is a Carson I bought from ScottR for half what he had in it, 120...just trying to give him something for his troubles and at least I have a cue to show for it now. I am trading that cue with someone very generous on the board possibly...but we will see how that deal goes...I don't see a real problem with it though.

My Comment: I posted the comment of 5/24/05. I now regret that I did. I have since won an auction for another one of his cues on Ebay. I sent a Paypal payment for over $400 and he has not sent a cue. He has not answered emails or phone calls for months. I cannot get full refund from Ebay because of his status. Kevin Carson is a thief - a lowlife common criminal. I am in the process to have him legally prosecuted. Do not deal with this weasel scum. Capt. Tom was right - I should have listened to him.

My Comment: I have recently purchased a cue from Kevin. I find this cue to be very professionally made. It has 4 spliced points that are very long and sharp. The leather wrap is perfect and the finish is deep and hard. The woods selected are top of the line. As good as this cue looks, it plays even better. The hit is amazingly sensitive. I have owned many, many fine cues over the years and I rank Kevin Carson cues as top notch!

My Comment: I have played with a Carson cue for a while now, and have to say that Kevin is totally in tune to what the better pool players are wanting in a cue. Great hit, amazing customization, and the attention to detail is phenominal. I have played many high dollar cues, Szams, Mottey''s, Black''s, etc, and ounce for ounce, this cue keeps up with them all. Keep up the good work Kevin.

Nope...that's the problem. I sent it back to him after he had agreed to refund me and he never sent me my money back. He said he would refund me once he had inspected it to be in the same shape as he had sent it to me. It was unchalked and he approved of it, saying he had to have some funds clear before he could send me a check. That's the last I have had contact with him. Phone no longer works I don't think, and he may even be divorced from his wife now it seems...or something. DaytonaJoe helped me track him down some...but the number he gave Joe was someone else's number and I could never reach Mr. Carson.

I gave up...shrug...but I will be dang if I let anyone forget this clown.

Some times people just go bad for what ever reason after a lifetime of being straight up people. My biggest screwings have been people I would have never thought would do it. One guy a doctor beat me out of $5000. on a short term loan. Who would have thought, turned out he was doing drugs, soon lost his license and just disappeared. People can really surprise sometimes, to be honest, you really don't know anybody when it comes right down to it.

Not a friend or relative but he was and or is a cuemaker, so instead of seeing a cuemaker keep getting bad publicity over short money because it's obvious that he was just starting out. WHY NOT offset the situation and offer something that would help. I don't know Kevin but I am getting to know Shorty. He's an okay guy, most of the time. So why not help, Shorty gets something he likes, I get the cue. And seeing it's my labor, wrap and suggestion. Kevin will no longer get bad press from Shorty.
