Are Corey & Aaron still going to be in town on Thur? In his post he said that they were going to be there this wkend, I didn't catch him saying all week.

I would hate to see ridiculous stories such as "Corey was scared to play" being posted on here when in fact it simply is that Corey will be in OH by then.

Hi Timberly,
Corey can handle all those rumors. There were bad stuff written about him in the past on this board.I am a supporter of Corey.
I do not care how many times `Kid Delicious` twists his neck and gets up and down like a lizzard as long as he shoots the ball in 15 seconds,Corey will roast him, demoralize him and make him quit pool and make him become a Christian.Any takers.....?

O man I will probably see Corey tonight. No offense to Danny but he is not in the same league as Corey. For the cash in that long of a race, I think Corey is a 4:1 favorite easy. I hope this isn't just hot air. I would love to see some good action for Corey this week.

I assume that means he wants to play 8 ball, right? I KNOW he isn't offering him the 8 ball.
He said 9 ball... I'm only 45 min from there... It would almost be worth driving out on Thur after work.... I say almost becase DB cannot give CD the 8 ball and like it. I think it would be a blow out and my drive out there wouldn't be worth it, esp with the cost of gas. If I could find anyone willing to take DB, I'd bet up some gas money but I don't think there will be any takers for DB in this game.

Your assuming that either of them had computer access while in town, and that they got your message.

I just talked to Corey a little while ago, and they were on their way home, so your gonna have to wait till either of them gets online, sees this thread, and someone gets the PM.

SS,

What happened last night?

Nothing.
They stopped by and left before i got there.

I don't think any type of game happened, as no one said anything.

corey has his cell # . Danny told me he beat him for money last time they gambled. Danny said for Corey to call him to match up and he's got the 8. point blank I don't bull and don't care who wins ,my stick is a webb signed by Corey . I like, and think they are great players both of them .I have no clue on the handicap ,other then Corey lost gambling to him and he then said next time they play he wanted last two. This came direct from Danny yesterday. I am going 1st hand and stand upon what was on this board also aaron and Corey knew where he was on Sat. 20 min. away.
He also knew he wanted to play .

Al-fahl-amir (Aarron)is friends with danny he gives him the 7+++ and was the link over the weekend to try to match up.

> I have a question for anyone that reads this thread. If YOU played Corey's speed, would you ask for weight from ANYONE? As good as Corey plays,I just can't see him asking anyone but Efren for the 8,but I'm not saying it didn't happen. Tommy D.

I don't even think could Efren could give Corey the 8 and like it. Though, at that level, the 8 don't really mean a whole lot other than bragging rights and a possible mental edge.

Good points and very true.

Thats what I have always thought when hearing about the top players givin eachother the 8 or even the 7. Does it make a difference? I don't see how it would at that level.

I would put my money on Corey, hands down

As for top players getting the 7ball or the 8ball, i personally dont think it means shyt. And for the most part its probably no different then a top player getting the 6ball or 5ball, unless a ball gets tie'd up.

I agree for run-outs giving a pro the 7 or 8 is practically no different, but I would *think* it makes a big difference if its not the "straight 8" but rather wild, since it would offer up more chances at an early win and if wild on the break would offer more games won just off the break.

Anyway... I originally thought that too about giving a pro the 8, but it would seem over a long race to affect things more just with the possibilities of early wins or winning on the break...

but this is all speculation from my part....

7 or 8 ball

makes no difference at that level, actually it does not make much difference at a few levels below them. It is a 'If I miss, you win' 'If I don't, I win' type of game. And even if I get to shoot and ca not get out, I am going to tie you up tight type of game.

Danny is no fool on gambling, and he knows Cory's game, so he must be figuring his percentage for break and runs is higher than Cory's. Even the pro players go through 'breaking slumps' once n awhile.

I think this would be a better match than what most people might think it would be at first.

Danny is a colorful pool player who had a featured article in SI Feb 05.
First time in 30 years for male player. He has a movie in production by Lion gate. He also has a book in the works. We need players with color, check out Bowling resurgence, also the poker characters. Danny has always treated people with respect as I see him play in Joss and Blaze regularly. He is a great player but he loves to gamble, ask some of the other pros's if they want him. Relax it's just pool ,enjoy it when people woof off. There is no better guy to be around then Earthquake when the action is thick. At challenge table V.F. Danny wanted in on the 1k game action with Luc and Sparky but they wanted it to stay head to head. I heard him ask and the reply.

There is nothing wrong with a player wanting to match up with another , this is their life let them live it.
listen they both have backers and don't play that kind of money by themselves. Lastly look up Danny Basavich on search engine and click on "so sue me" for SI article. The pool matches have been fewer on ESPN and we need players with charisma not all low key Vanilla!!!

I have a few thoughts about your question.

> When gambling, any edge I can get is OK with me, and the EGO is left at the door for $$$ bigger than a few hundred.

> If someone offers you weight, and you refuse, then lose....you look like an even bigger wacker.....IMO of course...again for large sums, not $20

> I think mentally, the idea of weight carries just as much risk/reward factor for both players.
If DB gives the weight and loses:
Then that's bad game making, but might help future negotiations.
If DB gives the weight and wins......
"obvious list of good things here"
but, He might have to give more weight to others down the road.

If CD refuses the weight and loses...see above
If CD refuses the weight and wins.......ouch!:D
If CD takes the weight and loses.....obvious sucky things.
If CD takes the weight and wins, we all would say that was obvious!

Man, If you could remove the EGO factor in all these circumstances, your life as a high profile gambler would be much easier.
