Kids monopolizing the pool table?

My daughter wants to play on the pool table when ever I start practicing.

Persistent little bugger she is. Game taking a dive.

Anyone else relate to this. Got a home table and can barely practice.

Wife puts cloths on it and its the official cloths folding center.

Kids want us to play together and shooting with a 4 year old is impossible.

I am sure some of you can relate. Got table and game gets worse?

I don't feel sorry for you

You have a table at home and kids that want to spend time with you. There are many that may envy your situation. That being said and other hand thats why I dont have kids. You can look at the positves maybe your kid will be the next SVB or Ga Young etc. Also it would be a great bonding while growing up. Kind wished my old man played more but its ok and i did ok without it but if he did it would have been some nice memories. You could gamble with your kid later. Hey Dad wanna play some 8 ball? Sure son but if I win the race to 7 you gotta mow the lawn 1month, do all the dishes for mom for a week, get an A in alegebra etc.

True every word.

Kids have unlimited table access but won't touch it.

They wait for me and then! Bam ! "I want to play "

So, I cave and we play as along and as much as they can hang!

Oh, heck ya.

Enjoy every minute of it, you're their hero....before you know it, they'll hit the teen years and you won't know s*it about anything.

Really, have fun with it. When they make a great shot and the game is over, take 'em for an ice cream cone.

Soon, they'll want to start helping Mom fold the clothes so they can play more with you.

And your wife will love you for it.

Everybody wins.

Quite a balancing act you have , i guess that is what being a Dad entails . If you had a friend your wife could stand:smile:, maybe you could get him to spend several hours playing on the weekend , maybe you need to invite . I always made married friends call me for visits or a run to somewhere to shoot pool etc. Never wanted to interfere with family life and become their wives public enemy number 1.

you're lucky to have a table at home.
kids want to play, you shoot for real and let her do her thing. find a way, and she'll get more interested if you show her cool shots and stuff.
and lastly, let your wife fold the clothes on the table, just as long as she lets you fold her on the table. its a win win buddy.

I can relate. I have to move cases off my table every day. Then when the kids are here I need to track down all the balls. Yesterday spent 20 minutes putting ball sets back together.

I hear you, buddy and here's my prediction: There will come a day, and it will be sooner than you think, when you find yourself alone at your table with nothing ahead but a quiet afternoon. You'll knock balls around for a few minutes and then, without knowing why, you're going to stop shooting and straighten up from your stance. You won't be thinking of all the great practice time you have or how much you are improving your break or your fantastic kick shots. Instead, you'll see a four year-old bouncing around the table, knocking balls to hell and back and not understanding a thing you're telling her. And the only thing you will want is for her to be there. One more time. For just a few more minutes. Just you and her and her laugh. And when you find yourself alone at your table, those thoughts washing over you, a little tear is going to well up in your eye. Believe me. I know.

Bam! Enjoy it while it lasts! It won't be long before all she wants to do is watch TV, hang with friends and text nonstop. After that she will be off on her own, working or married or something. Then you can hit balls all you want.

Truth is the op probably knows all this and he is just venting a bit which is cool too.

There's only one thing worse than a kid wanting to play pool with you.....
....a kid not wanting to play pool with you.

You're a lucky guy, sir.....but I think you know that.

I've got a few cues floating around....chopped to 37 inches.
When the child outgrows it, the deal is ....bring it back or pass it on.

nope...no one puts a thing on my table and my kids knew that when I got home that was dads time to wind down from work and work on his game. Then they could play lol

If your child is 4 I assume she goes to bed around 8 or so?

Might be nice to play with her together for a half hour before bed
and after you have another hour or more for yourself.

gr. Dave

Sounds like she loves her dad and the game lucky man if u ask me maybe get her one of those mini tables she can play on hers and u can play on urs

When my sons were young i got them a small baby pool table (toysRus) and set it next to mine, it worked for few months, got them other toys too! then they realize nothing like the real thing.

You will be lucky to find an hour here and there, especially if you work full time! but once they get into school you will have more time..As far as wife, (all Wives no exceptions) thinks and believe that the table at home is your mistress, and will treat it as such!
