Kielwood Shaft Quality

Kielwood shaft question:
I have only used the InFuze Kielwood shaft that I own. The shaft is not as smooth as regular maple shafts or CF shafts.

When I received it, the finish at the joint end was higher than normal so I sanded it a bit and while at it I lightly sanded the whole shaft which made it smoother, but after burnishing it and applying Q Glide (that makes regular maple shafts very slick) it went back to feel just as it started, not that slick at all, even with a glove.

Is it like that with all Kielwood shafts?

I like the look of kielwood, much nicer than CF but deflects more and I do believe that it's a passing fab, a CF shafts makes much more sense if looking for performance and a regular/LD wooden shaft make more sense if looking for the wooden feel.

I have 3 Kielwood shaft made by Barnhart and Pierce. All 3 shafts arrived smooth as satin and despite that,
I still applied Renaissance Wax to the shafts immediately and regularly since getting the shafts. The KW shafts
in my case are absolutely flawless and now smoother than any original shaft I ever received from any cue maker.

The Barnhart RMS shaft weighs 3.81 ozs, 29.5” and 12.85mm. The other two shafts are made by a great cue maker.
Jim Pierce and the deflection is very slight & the shafts are flat faced without any weight inserts…..just wood….and
are 29”, 12.6mm, 4.0 ozs and 12.75mm, 4.15 ozs. People tried giving me a bunch of shit about heavier version KW
shafts but I ignore assholes, especially since a I’ve been accused of being one myself. Well, I am more than pleased.
