Kielwood shafts?

I'm thinking about upgrading the shaft on my Jacoby player to Jacoby's kw shaft. Anybody play with one or have tried it out and have an opinion on it?

I play with a kiel wood shaft. It is lighter than a standard maple shaft, thus making it lower deflection. It is not as low deflection as LD laminated shafts. It falls a little in the middle - in my opinion. It is harder - less susceptible to dings, and stiffer. I played with many CF shafts since the first Revo came out, several different brands, and they definitely were an improvement over standard maple shafts. However, I was missing the feel and sound of maple shafts and tried the kiel wood shaft. For me, it was perfect. Your mileage may vary.

I also play with a Hsunami (Richard Hsu) kielwood shaft. His shafts are not lighter than a normal shaft, which is why I had him make me one. I specified 3.9 ounces, and it came in at 3.91. That matches the exact weight of my Tascarella shaft I was using. It does have LD properties, but not as much as a CF shaft. It has a very crisp hit with a lot of feedback, as there are no hollow spaces inside. Really a great shaft and completely custom order.

I just picked up a new (to me) cue that I think would pair well with a kielwood shaft of some sort, was looking between the Jacoby KW or the OB Phoenix (being able to specify 30" length being a bonus for the OB), would love to hear first-hand opinions on those in particular, though now I may look into the Hsunami route.
