May I ask why you don't play with your Black Boars anymore?
BTW, they're very, very nice!

Hey Barb.
I just had too many other things to do. (school, girl, family)
I had stopped travelling around to tournaments and such, so there really wasn't a need to play with it anymore cause i wasn't playing the high level competition that i used to.
At the time, i was not playing a lot of pool, and was constantly forgetting my cue in the car in the summer. So seeing as i didn't want to destroy it, and since i really wasn't putting in a lot of time on the table, i just stuck them in the closet, and opted to play with a old cuetec that i've always played well with. Which i could cook or freeze in the car, and basically beat the daylights out of, without it affecting the cue.
There is also something very liberating about not worrying if i'm dinging my cue, or if it gets scratched on the metal of the pool table or whatever. I can also now walk into a room during the summer, and leave the cue in the car, and go get it only if i find a game, instead of HAVING to bring it in, and lug it around everywhere just so it won't overheat.
Those reasons, plus the fact of Black Boar not really making cues for individuals anymore, and doing his work strickly for Lucky. At this point, i'd rather just let them ripen up a bit, seeing as they are pretty rare nowadays.
If i ever take pool seriously again, i'm sure that i will whip out the old faithful, but right now, i've got too many other things on my plate.
