Kinda of a Dumb Question...

I've got a softy.

Think of how depressing it would be to see Shane Van Boening use the soft break. That masterful break he has is a combination of soft control, follow through, speed and snap.

The soft break will turn a lot of non-playing tv viewers off to pool.

2 cents.

Corey D has been given credit for it.....

He was the first to do it on television for sure......

It has been said that Corey works on his break more than any other part of his game...

OK, like I said before........

I have heard many times that he practices his break alot....

I have heard this from many people..... It doesn't mean that they all weren't wrong...

I just started using the soft break last week. Before league play I spent about and hour just breaking in order to be comfortable with it. I think it has improved my percentage of balls made on the break.

For me, this is the way to break now. To each his own.

whatever works...

Corey is a rack MECHANIC! His break is possibly ONE OF THE strongest parts of his game, combined with his shot making ability, is what makes him one of the best.

Danny Basavich (Kid Delicious) is also a rack MECHANIC!!! One day I was racking for him and he was telling me where which balls would go, and was breaking at full speed.

I do agree that soft breaking is BORING to watch, but very skillful....

I truly blame this whole break on 2 things....

1. Pool players inability to deliver a good honest rack
2. Sardo for trying to ammend the above

Personal IMO, racking is part of the game and should have been left untarnished. It is part of your ability to beat your opponent. Do I think players should go around flat racking? NO, but what's next, having automated pitchers for baseball? Racking is PART of the game.

Just my opinion *shrug*
