King Cobra

We definitely lost a free-flowing wealth of knowledge, with rkc's departure.

That's what I was thinking....and I'm glad to know that he's posting on Facebook. I hadn't thought to look him up there, now I can see the great stuff he's doing to these tables again.

Glen is talented, but it isn't rocket science. There are lots of great guys to set up a table, or rebuild one.

At 50 years, my tolerance for a$$holes has almost been used up.

For those who are younger, and dumber, feel free to beg for this guy, and kiss his a$$.

Geez

There might be a lot of them but not too many really good ones.

Most players wouldn't have a clue as has been shown over and over... I am a bit of a perfectionist and would pay Glen if he were coming thru my area... There is NOONE within hours of Knoxville I would even consider aside from Mark Gregory and that's 3.5 hours.....

While Glen had his issues AZ did lose a lot of knowledge when he got the boot... Glad to know he is out on the book of faces... Will go add him asap....

I find it a shame that some of his victims got banned long before he did.

I think his ban is over now, but iirc, he had someone post for him saying he was taking his toys and going home (not coming back). I'm sure he's good at his job, but I doubt he's the be-all, end-all of pool table "mechanics." Certainly not worth being insulted and talked down to over the internet.

I've been speaking with Glen everyday now for about 2 weeks.
We go head to head plenty......but time passes.....and we talk like we never had a bad word about one another.
I'm not taking his side for some of the miss haps he's created......but I do believe he's made some changes in the right direction.....seams like him getting banned for sometime now....has done him good.
As far as info on talk to a mechanic.."..sure it's slow......but how much more about pool tables can get asked.....just about everything about a pool table has been covered.
The only real thing missing is all the mechanics arguing with one another.
I do believe Glen is a great mechanic......and would love to see him come back......BUT ONLY TO RESPECT OTHERS.
Mark Gregory

Met Glen in Vegas. Solid guy, knows his stuff and we had some good conversation about "forums".

This business is tough action no matter who you are. That's all I will say on that.

Glen is in Chino,CA. been working there for months

No, he is in Chico. We don't have a prison here. Also, he's been here since June, at a room with 6 tables, and 2 are done as of this moment. He completely built one from the ground up, and has rebuilt one existing table. Since June. I know good work takes time, but damn.

Maybe it's taking 4-months because Glen doesn't know the difference between Chino & Chico either.
If you make the wrong turn in California, it takes quite a while to get where you're going.
Then again he could be organizing a pool table mechanics union, and he is in a work
slowdown protesting inadequate working conditions for pool table mechanics.

This is why we need Glen around to explain these time lapses.

You got it Kyle(?).

Uh oh. Looks like I have been "outed".

Not like Chico is a very big place though so it was only a matter of time.

And yes, Glen definitely seems to be taking his time on the tables. I won't pretend I know all the details or reasons. At this point, we all just want the rest of the tables to play like the two that are done and stay positive.

You wait and wait and wait for Glen to arrive and start work.
Then you wait and wait and wait for Glen to finish and leave.
The two are related.

Some have already started joking that when the first table needs new cloth in a couple of years that Glen will still be conveniently located in the parking lot.

Once again though, no disrespect to his abilities at all.

Good to see you stop lurking and start posting. The tables will turn out great, but yeah, it's taking a long time. On Facebook, he's told someone in Oregon that "he's finishing up here".
