Ko Pin Yi vs James Aranas live now on YT, Asian 9 Ball Open Finals

Awesome match, thanks for posting the link. We (internet railbirds) have access to incredible pool content right now.

It was a break-and-run fest, with Ko at 50% on 6 of his 12 breaks and Aranas at 75% on 9 of his 12 breaks, so 63% (15 of 24) overall.

The successful-break percentage was 100%.

The breaker won 88% (21 of 24) of the games.

And they were soft-breaking. The women's final had harder breaks than the mens.

Ko Pin Yi just stated is cue worth 30000$00... Wtf...?! Gold details and such! Damnn, any one else playing with a Zen cue that can say something about their playability?

That was a great final. Just turned on one shot really.
I watched all the days they steamed on YouTube. I very much, enjoyed the whole event.
It had a different feel to the European ones. I liked the different styles.
It was great to see some Filipino players.
I also liked Karl boyes commentary. The guys who he was with where good.
One of the things mentioned a couple times, was the use of wood shafts. Being more widely used than the carbon fibre. Completely different culture, over there I reckon!!
From what was said, it looks like pool is still as main stream. As football is in the UK.
It's every where:)

Is that the highest you have on your records?

Again, the template rack makes the game of pro 9-ball too easy, and boring af for the fans.
I don't remember seeing ANY---even 2 balls-- clustered that needed to be broken up after ANY their 24 breaks.
9-ball should be triangle only, 9 on the spot racked.
The template is fine for 10-ball and 8-ball, but not pro 9-ball.
If Matchroom is going to keep pushing 9-ball- instead of the much more challenging game of 10-ball- they need to make breaking tuffer.

9/12 from Aranas is ridiculous

template or not that is just sick

he lost this match with some unforced errors more than Ko won it

That was the only draw back, was that break format. But other than that, I enjoyed it.
Other than, one event recently. It's been like that for a couple years.
