Here's another one that will go out this week. Still needs more finish, but figured I'd post it now because I don't know what the Handle wood is. It is Hawaiian, but that is all I know. It was given to me along with a ton of other woods from Hawaii, but the person was not sure what this one is. I haven't been able to figure it out. It's hard to see in the photos, but the wood really has some nice figure to it. Colorwise, it is a lot like Brazilian Rosewood, but there is no smell at all. I'd of loved to make a forearm out ot if, but there was just a small chunk and all I could get out of it was a segmented handle. There's enough left over if I ever decide the cue needs Joint Protectors.

Looks like pheasantwood to me. The color is on the red side but not out of the color realm of pheasant. The grain is identical, distinctly layered kinda like wenge.

Here's a better photo of a piece of the handle. Anybody have any idea what this is?

That's what it is. I'm 100% certain that the wood came from Hawaii and I looked up Pheasant Wood and found that that's where it comes from. I saw Jeff's cue earlier and thought the wood was similar, but I didn't bother to look it up.

Thanks you two.

if i could, i would build all of my cues out of koa, i believe its the most beautiful wood in the world. and this cue is a great example. nice work. chuck

Here's some updated photos along with the back end of another cue I'm almost finished with. Both still need one more coat of finish, sanding and buffing, but they are close. Both should be done on Monday

Hi, my Roadplayer Cue received yesterday and plays soooo sweet. We took the balance Point to 18,5 and the weight is 18,8oz. Tony made special Shaft's for me and the Hit is phenomenal. The work is flawless and this is not my LAST Zinzola Cue.My Cue is NO 49.
