Kress Router from Brianna ...

The mount needs to hold the 43mm ring at the base of the motor. Jim.

Perfect!

I just checked my tool post router bracket I made for my model # 1608/1609 Bosch laminate router, it's also 43mm! It's a ventilated 3/4" thick billet of aluminum too, so I guess the heatsink requirement is taken care of as well.

Not only could I use the Kress in the same mount, but I can use the Bosch baseplates on it if I ever need it for countertops!

Thanks once again for the info.

Frank

Not to mention the fact that that Porter Cable Router vibrates so much I think I can feel it when I'm outside.

I have a Bosch router motor that fits that description. With a laminate bit, or 1/2" diameter bit it runs fine, but with anything larger, like the 6-wing cutters, it sounds like it's going to fly apart.
Upon examination, the motor shaft is cracked where the collet meets it. You can't notice it when the collet is out, but when the collet is in and tightened slightly, you can see the crack open up.
My other Bosch motor, without a crack, works just fine (soon to be replaced with a Kress I think).
