I am looking to make a substantial purchase of these and was wondering how many might be interested and what models/voltage. I don't want to step on any toes(might already be), so I won't list the prices. Please PM me for details. Each would come with 1/8 and 1/4 collets and and extra nut.

I have imported a few of these myself. You will want to make sure you are including the import tax if comming from Germany. This may catch you off guard if not included in the sales price. You may find it difficult getting ahold of the 110v ver. as Kress only makes them for special orders. Tecno sells the 110v but have a great increase on the price. I am intrested in the price that you can get them for. Send me a pm. If I can point you to a cheaper place, I will.

Jim.

I could get both 220 and 110, but it would probably be 2 weeks before I could deliver the 110. I don't mind ordering ahead of time and wouldn't consider taking deposits, just don't want a bunch of routers laying around.

My Kress is a 220V version. I'm not sure what the difference is for the 110 or the 220, but if it's anything significant, you could just get a power adapter. I got a converter that will convert both directions and I don't think it was all that expensive. Seems to work fine with my Router.

I know some run the 220 Kress on 110 power, but you are not getting the full 30K RPM's running it that way.

What's the big deal with the Kress that we keep hearing about so often? Seems to me that I could break / wear-out two or three other routers for the same money... I'm sure that I'm missing something here, and would like an education.
Thanks.
Mr H

I'm not sure honestly. I have never used one. I have a Dewalt, a Rigid, and a Colt. The Dewalt makes my ears bleed. The Rigid is quiet by comparison and the Colt somewhat louder than the Rigid. I thought it might be viable to spend a couple grand, provide the best price I have seen anywhere, and end up with one for myself in exchange for the trouble. If there isn't enough interest then I just won't bother.

CMs are not immune to the economy and the 'silly season' is upon us.
Maybe the timing isn't quite right on your purchase of these.
Just a thought and whatever you decide, I wish you luck.

My porter cable laminate trim router has lasted me about 10 years. It costs my about $45.00 to have the bearing and brushes changed about once a year. If my volume was higher I could see doing it twice a year. Reasons for going with the Kress???

I don't own one, but I was led to believe they are a couple "cuts" above the others. If your PC is as loud as my Dewalt, I would not buy another. It is considerably louder than either my Colt or my Rigid. It was recommended to me by the person who sold me my Taper Shaper and thought if I sold a quantity at a discount I could get one for my trouble.

I won't even power the Dewalt on without hearing protection. Neither of the others bother me at all..

Anyway, I am not sure there is enough interest. Especially with times what they are and Holidays coming up.
