Kudos for Kumui

Just wanted to give a shout out for Kumui tips. I know there is a lot of scuttlebutt about the chalk...25 and up for a piece LOL! However the tips are worth the money! I had Andy Gilbert put on Kumui Black Hard and I use blue diamond chalk...I have not had a single miscue and the tip has yet to mushroom or lose its shape at all! I don't know if it is just in my head or not but there are a few "twister" banks (one-pocket) that I can make pretty regularly with this tip that I cannot make with my other ones...so if you are on the fence about the tips, they are well worth the price and it would seem they actually hold up longer than others while letting you apply more english! Thanks.

I just switched back to Kumui Super Soft last week after using my Milk Duds and I must say that you are correct. Now I love my Milk Duds they are very very good just ask Larry Nevel. I gave Larry one of my Milk Duds Saturday for a tournament we had at Mr. Cues 2 here in Atlanta along with a cube of Blue Diamond Chalk and after he hit a few balls and got use to it he took the tournament off. Needless to say I was happy to see a pro use my tip and win but I cannot put spin on a ball like Larry can, I need a Kumui inorder to do it. I had a Kumui before but took it off because the spin was just too much for me to handle but I have grown better since then and can put it to good use.

The Kamui blacks are great, I have not mushroomed my KB medium and I have a hard break 25-30mph on average, they hold up well. The browns will crush. I put a KB hard on my break cue, I love it.

I agree, the tips are great, have them on both my shafts, a black soft on one and a medium on the other. I just do not care for the chalk, I am okay with just regular well used Master or Blue Diamond, hate pasty chalk.

Same for me...I've got about a month of play on my first Kamui Black Soft...Love it. No mushrooming, tip stays nicely beveled to a nickel shape, don't need to dress it as much as other tips, should last a long time. Liveliest tip I've ever tried; it really juices the cue ball. I'm not having any miss cue issues--I'm not sure why some folks are. I use just regular Masters chalk, just ordered some Blue Diamond to try. I don't think I need to look any further!

I've been playing with Kamui tips for some time now and I have to agree. I went from a black SS to a brown S and now am playing with a Black S. Of the three I like the black S the best.

I have never had a problem with mushrooming on any of them but the SS did wear a bit fast. I've been playing with the Black S for about 6 months and it's held up extremely well.

I have a few other cues that have other tips and I just don't get the same control with them.
