You won't find action durring a WPBA tourney...against policy.Southdakotakid said:The US open is in NM. and heard there are some action going on down there. want to know who is playing. Any information?

Huh???Williebetmore said:LS77,
Perhaps not everyone follows the policy to the letter. Or perhaps the policy has some loopholes. Or perhaps the policy is occasionally ignored. Or perhaps the policy is loosely or selectively enforced. In any event, I think several of us witnessed some action in Peoria (lady pro to remain nameless - if you'd been at the tournament where you belonged you'd have seen it too). Maybe SDK didn't ask such a bad question after all.
landshark77 said:Huh???Obviously you are confusing the definition of action... I was in Peoria....sorry you missed me....I guarantee you didn't see "action" in the tourney room. Obviously you need to learn the policies the WPBA has in reference to gambling. There will be no action when the WPBA has a tourney. At least not with a WPBA player involved.

The action was at the local pool hall, not in the tournament or practice rooms. I thought though, that "action" in the hosting town was prohibited (not just on site); and that what we saw was definitely gambling at pool by one of the visiting WPBA players. Can anyone clarify - I certainly don't have a copy of the by-laws???
williwbetmore said:P.S. - If you were in Peoria, how did you miss all of the fun stuff (pool with JB & SJM, lunch with SR and the motley crew of AZB'ers)?? Don't you know how to enjoy yourself? (and don't give us any lame excuses about your delicate condition)

landshark77 said:Well...I'll tell you...the WPBA players are prevented from gambling after the players meeting until the end of the tourney. A fine is imposed for those caught voilating the policy....I am not sure if there is a suspension, nor am I aware of the amount of the fine. Thus, IF a player IS catching some action I am sure she doesn't want it posted on the internet for the world to see...thus (read between the lines here), there is no action at WPBA tourneys....it is against policy.
I was there..we made eye contact. Due to other obligations I got there late. And some more obligations prevented me from staying more than a day. This was not a vacation for me...I saw the people I needed to see. I was gone by the time the lunch took place....again..sorry you missed me.
True. I just made a statement based on SDKid's question....you jumped my gun.
