Lady Cues

A good friend of mine is in Rehab right now. But when she gets out for her Christmas gift I was going to get her a decent cue. However I don't know what a decent cue is for a girl.

I've seen her shoot with my 19oz McDermott and it seems like she extends her arm out too much. I do have to work on her stance a little more but overall she has a decent stance. But even with that she looks like she is towards the front of the wrap.

So I'm wondering what other Female players use. I see some woman players use a standard length cue (57"-58") sometimes. But they looked really choked up on it. Sometimes their hand are at the front of the wrap. While when males shoot they can be towards the back.

Which is why I'm asking the ladies.
How does your arm towards the front of the cue affect balance?
Do they make smaller size (Like 54"-55") cues for women?
Or what is a good balance cue for women?

I'm looking for something somewhat girly but not like Daddy's Little Princess girly. Or this Vibrator looking cue I saw a woman bring to a pool hall one time. But Looks aren't Priority number 1.

Any help is appreciated

I have built custom cues for several ladies per THEIR specifications (weight, length, taper, etc). They order the same thing the guys do: 58", 19 oz or so, same balance point, 13 mm, etc.

Choking up on a cue is not proper, the arm, elbow and cue should be in alighnment and should make a triangle. Choking up on the cue will throw this alighnment off and you can not get good follow through with a choked up cue...
You should buy the regular production length which I think is 59". Meucci makes a lot of pretty cues for women, cameos, roses etc. but they are very pricey- I personally don't like the hit, but other people do--it's just preference but they are very pretty and your gal will like them.
It all boils down to price. Depending on how often this cue will be used should help you decide what to buy. If this is a hobby that you hope she will be interested in I'd look into a Players cue for $100 and upgrade if you like.
Good luck, it sounds like a nice gift.

Purple maybe?

Maybe just this for $70 delivered. It's 57" and I can make it 19 or 20oz.
PM if interested.

It's an even better deal when you buy 2 or more. They come in 7 colors. The ones I sell on here I hand select for best shafts and nicest forearm figuring. Of course they will also be straight. :)
These are my stock photos. I can not promise as much figuring as these photos, but I do pick the nicest available. Anyone Please PM if interested.

It looked like sort of like the picture that Rackem showed. Except bright pink. I saw a girl using it at a pool hall here in Atlanta. It looked like it should have had an on/off switch. And I bet that stick would be illegal in Alabama.

She's going to be in there for I think another 2 months. And Ironically Athena just sent our shop some posters with the female oriented cues. They looked pretty decent. So I'll probably just let her choose when she gets out.

I guess it's good to know that women use regular length sticks. But when I see them play with then and their arm so far forward on the stick it just looks uncomfortable to me.

Appreciate the info.

The Pink one you speak of would have been one of Stealth's Dooley handle cues. Relatively inexspensive cues. What I pictured were some Dymondwood Cues from Topper.
