Larry Nevel v. Wade Crane

I swear, I did not even know that this guy was still alive (Wade Crane).

I remember watching some very old footage and he was like 65 playing 30 or so years ago. This can't be a fair match up.

Wade Crane is not gonna match up with Larry Nevel unless he is getting a ton of weight. He wouldn't match up with Brian White a few years back in Mobile, AL. This isn't his first rodeo. He isn't going to give his money to Larry.

yep hes still around, i saw him play in last years open. He was still hitting them pretty good but yeah he would need quite a bit of weight i think. This guy was a monster though there at one time.....a really good local player here went on the road with him years back, he has some good stories

Dude, you are thinking about Irving Crane. Wade is 63 right now I think. You are right about one thing he would not be a match for Larry now playing any game.

As the above poster mentioned Wade Crane "Billy Johnson" is in his early 60's and there was a time when he was maybe the most feared 9ball road man. right around the time of Bill Incardona, Jimmy Reid, a young Cole Dixon, Ritchie Florence, and an older Wimpy among others who were practically unbeatable for the cash. I heard stories that when Wade was young he strung racks togather like nobody else he a monster break (also nicknamed Boom-Boom) and could run out the set at anytime.

I got the 8 on a 5x10 in the sixties and HATED every minute of it.

Father time has taken his toll and at this time WADE needs at least the 7 from Larry.

Nevel ended up sending Crane to the one-loss side - not sure of the final score.

Ole Boom Boom was the first player to ever record a perfect 1000 Accu Stats match and is available on Accu stats videos still I think, Wade also played great nineball two years ago in the Carolina Classic at Goldsboro NC.
