Larry is a lot of things: some good, some bad. Larry has done a lot of things: some good, some bad. There aren't too many people that don't fit into this category. As far as the nickname, would someone prefer that all of the nicknames represent the pro players %100 acurately? Could be some pretty colorful nicknames !!!
:D

Oh man, am I tempted to suggest some of those 100% accurate nicknames!

But I will show restraint.

My thoughts on "The Truth" and it has nothing to do with Larry Nevel and honesty.

I think the name "The Truth" represents something more along the lines of: the answer, the real deal, the next best thing. There was a movie about basketball in the 90's called Heaven is a Playground that had a character nicknamed "The Truth". He represented his area, and was supposed to be the stud, the player to take their area way beyond the next level. In no way was that used to represent honesty, nor the person's character.

I feel that is how the nickname is for Larry Nevel. IMO

iirc from the skins billiards championships mitch laurance said something close to: "he's so good they call him the truth" and he's sponsered by viking cues, would think possibly has something to do with larry being from the same area where viking is based out of?

Purdy, I also feel the same as you. Why go out and knock someone if you don't like them, or you hear BS, gossop? Larry's a good guy in my opinion.
No need to talk trash about anyone. There's enough knocks about folks with out any added extras.

Yes I do have something against him as an individual, but what I know is not gossip though. He has had many cues given to him by cue manufacturers that misteriously were lost and not given back. Then all of sudden he was seen at a tournament the next week trying to sell the cue. He had sold a fake Rollex to a regular at the pool hall knowing it was fake for $3,000. The individual he sold it to was one of the nicest guys around and never said boo to anyone. I just can't stand it when people take advantage of others knowing exactly what they are doing. I know of many more stories that I won't go into and they are all facts, not gossip.

Well, you wrestlemania fans will surely remember the name Bobby "the brain" Heenan. Let's face it, the nickname doesn't ALWAYS fit.

You guys are going pretty far back aren't ya??? :p :D
I quit watching that crap YEARS ago.
I walked by a TV the other day and it was on, i had no idea that it still existed LOL.
The previous post mentioned why it was fun to watch back then.
But now?
Please...
It's a friggen circus.

And a funny story about "superfly".
A guy i know that runs the local skating rink (yep, we still have one, along with one of the last drive in theaters as well,) is a big "wrastlin" fan.
He was sitting ringside at one of those events. He knew "Superfly" (among countless others) personally. "Superfly" walked over to him (this is at the aisle) and says, "Hey Mike... Where's the ring???"

Ahhhhhh.... those were the days :D :D :D
