Vegas is the worst city for action period, and I have been all over the country more than once. I spent almost 2 years all day everyday in Vegas pool halls and the only action is 1P here and the Vegas players win 80% of the time playing out of town players, they usually have the line on anyone who can play before they come to town-word travels, the reason for bad action is simple-The casinos, they keep everyone busted and when the local pool players come to the pool room they need a lock, I hardly ever saw anyone gamble here, they wont match up unless its a lock, they cant afford too, the casinos get all the $$$. Once or twice I would see some action that was gambling, I never saw anyone ever get out of line and take a tough game, God forbid any one from Vegas would match up with someone else from Vegas. I'm only talking about players not bangers.
I saw Grady beat a local guy once and he kept the $$. Not many guys got out with anything.
Usually road players that would win a little, would lose it to someone else shortly after because the local players could get a read of the first game the road player won, thus getting a lock for them selfs.
I saw alot of guys come to town and get beat and they ended up staying until they got pumped up good enough to leave(sometimes a month) and when they did win it wasnt at the pool room. The casinos get all the action. Just like poker hurt pool all over the country, well that happened in Vegas from day one.
if you want pool action go else where, you want casino action go to Reno the rules on the games in Vegas are so tight now there is no shot of winning here like there was 10 years ago. I'm banned from all 5 single deck 21 games in vegas. In the whole city there is only 5 single deck 21 tables, they are everywhere in Reno, for me thats stealing. Vegas is bad action.
Phoneix, Sacramento, Hardtimes in LA, Dallas, Atlanta are all good spots for action, I wish Vegas was. Sometimes there is action here when there is the BCA but its usually from out of town players going to Cue-Club. The local players here are lock artists that set the standard. There are a few good first class players here Ed Kelly is one but he isnt looking for action.
