Laser Rack Review

After two weeks I've tested the Laser Rack (http://www.laser-racks.com) I have to say I'm impressed. When I first heard about this I figured this was just another gimmicy rack. But after testing I had other ideas.....

If there are any questions on how this rack would hold up to the beating and banging of the life called pool then I say yes. Here is a close up of the rack, showing where the lasers are installed (pic just shows 2 of the 3).

We got lucky and put our spot in the right spot atleast with it lined up with the middle diamonds on the table so when we rack a set of balls, then front laser is DEAD ON. Here's a pic where I put a ball in front of the middle diamond (from the breakers side of the table) and you can see where the laser showed up. DEAD ON. I've never taken pics of lasers so alot of the time the lasers disappeared with the flash on, so I have many more pics to post.

We also tested it on dropping it today to test the sturdiness of the rack. We dropped it twice from the top of the table to the hard floor of our gameroom (it has carpet, but its very thin). Each time it stayed in one piece with nothing broke, and each time the laser came back dead on. When you buy the Laser Rack, it comes with little red stickers to stick on the rail to line the diamonds up with the laser but you could use anything. Like others have said on the boards, how can you know its dead on with the middle diamonds to your left and right? Thats easy if you use the stickers. Each laser should hit the middle of the stickers and you know you are dead on or as close as you can be. This rack can be used without a spot or even lines drawn on the felt, etc. We have played 14.1, Rotation, 8Ball, and 9Ball so far with this rack with no problems. I'll post more next week with more pictures using the stickers Abe provided with the Laser Rack.

Josh-- Thank you for your review.

I've heard this "gimmick" response a few times now from different people. Maybe I should change the name. But once people see how it works, it makes sensev to them. I've integrated "New School" with "Old School" and it actually works! :)

It's funny... at the BCA Expo there were multiple times where people glanced at my "Laser Rack" banner and almost walked away. I could guess they were thinking "another gimmick." UNTIL, I would walk up to them and offer a quick 10-sec demo of The Laser Rack. Most who saw the demo thought it was a great idea.

What size table did you test on by the way? And what was the feedback from your peers?

Regards,
Abe

Sorry I forgot those details. We play on an 8 footer, my brother thought the rack was a great idea as well. The kids think its the best rack ever made because it shoots lasers out.....lol

But so far after two weeks, no problems and great responses on the Laser Rack!

I don't go around promoting a lot of products and hate the idea of over-selling anythng, but, I will say it again:

I racked for the Sylver Ochoa and Gabe Owen match several days ago and was very, very impressed. It is the best, by far, I have ever used. I don't see room for error with it.

I have alway tended to turn the racka bit to the right and have been questioned about it by many. It is not intentional, it's the way I see it. With the laser, you can't do that. You can't move badly with this rack because there are three lights for everyone to see.

I will say this again, if you don't rack perfectly with the laser, it is either table error or the balls.

I agree Ironman. And the great thing is, you can use this rack on either side of the table and it will work perfectly.

I forgot to mention the lasers will NOT come on unless the back two sensors are pushed down (happens when its laid on the table) and then you push the balls forward and the top sensor is pushed in then the lasers come on. We have also seen a big difference in the breaks as we've seen better breaks because the rack isnt twisted (it can be twisted a hair and kill any chance of you making a ball) so it takes that out of the equation. Its the most fair rack I've seen yet.

2 more stain colors

Thanks to all for your responses.

I'm here at the $1M 9-Ball Shootout and just finished setting up the tournament tables for The Laser Rack. I'll be taking some pics of the event & posting, hopefully sooner than later. :)

In addition to the American Maple stain color shown above, here are 2 additional stain colors, Mahogany and Cherry.

Btw, the "LASER-RACKS.COM" stickers will not be on racks sold. These were just samples of what's being used at this tourny.
