Has anyone had lasik surgery and their pool game improved right away,,,here's what I am getting at, I have astigmatism, wear contacts, smoky pool rooms blur my eyes, eye glasses suck, fall down the nose, right now shooting pool in my house with no lenses/frames etc. Yes my vision is a little blurry I can see the balls, but does or will lasik surgery help?

I am now 13/20 (20/20 is normal - 15/20 is very good).

I have better vision now than I have in my entire life. I am 44 years old.

My up close vision is worse, and I now use reading glasses.

Just my experience. I would pay twice what I paid (about $3600) to have it done.

So yes it will help.

LASIK surgery will help in that you won't have the contacts (I assume you're wearing toric at this point), and the smoke and late night start those torics wobbling.

I am exactly the person you're asking. My asitigmatism was simply making it very difficult to drive at night because of the toric lenses. The torics were great and perfect during the day. When my eyes started getting tired, they didn't stay radially in line. LASIK eliminated that problem.

But I want to be clear: I got LASIK because of contact, astigmatism, and glasses problems. I didn't do it for pool. My pool game didn't get better, if that's what you're hoping. Eye problems went away. And that's why you would get LASIK. And because of that, pool becomes funner late at night.

I got Lasik quite a while ago, at leat 8 years, and I highly recommend it. In terms of pool, it did not make much difference because I already wore contacts, but once your eyes adjust to the surgery, it's like having the most perfectly comfortable contacts imaginable.

If you can get Lasik, in other words, if you qualify for it and can afford it, in my opinion it's highly recommended.

I got lasik 7 years ago and haven't had any problems. I don't think my pool game got better but I am definitely more comfortable.

I highly reccomend choosing a very reputable doctor though. I shopped around and went with the best clinic I could find in my area. I just think it too important a thing to go cheap on.

I get my eyes zapped in two weeks. I do expect it to help me because I haven't updated my prescription in a year-and-a-half and a long shot on a 9 foot table is not crisp anymore. Really not sure how I've been winning matches for the last 6 months.

Lasik?

My wife had lasik and it helped, but she also has an astigmatism and the doctors told her that it might not last, she recently started wearing glasses again. Not saying, you shouldn't go for it but ask for a second opinion, and do a little research. hope this helps.

I had lasik on one eye, and it seems to be wearing off. It's been 2 years now. Your eyes keep changing as you get older. When I had it done, I too though it important how it affected my pool game. Now I see that that's nonsense. Vision is so important, immensely more important than pool.
