Lassiter 2nd match

I was 2 and 0 unbeaten in the 9 ball division with 7 straight wins and now two and 0 in the All around. Sounds pretty good doesn’t it bahaha unbeaten!

Ronnie and I played 14-1 the second match of the all around. He chose 14-1 in our match but Ronnie I’m sure didn’t know I was a seasoned 14-1 player with 100 plus capability and his choice of games backfired on him, put 70 on him and got a win, 125-119!

He used good sense choosing 14-1, I would have chose 14-1 also if I were playing an 18 yr old short stop per Ronnie Bahahahaha

Now 2 and 0 Lassiter had his choice of games and he chose 14-1! He needed a win folks the all around was sliding away from both opponents. Both my opponents had to choose their best game at this point to get a win but if they both won at their best game Lassiter had to play me one hole (my best game) and Ronnie had to play me 9 ball which was about an even game 50-50, whomever wanted it most!

Lassiter won the lag for first break and gave it to me Really Bahahahaha, well I gave it the standard safe break and Lassiter ran 115 balls before freezing himself to another ball, there was light people, I wasn’t dead yet!

He took 3 fouls in a row, I took two and the Ref reracked the balls, Lassiter lost 18 points and he gave the standard safe break, he was excellent at it but he was a playing a kid that would shoot at the moon if he had to Bahahahaha

Well the one ball that came out of the stack I called it in the left corner pocket and cut it backwards sending my cue ball crashing into the stack like a full blown amateur lol!

Well lucky me I made the shot and preceded to run 127 and out. I was at 64 when I pocketed my last ball sending my cue ball into the stack with too much authority and the cue ball glanced off the stack and found the corner pocket on my side at the far end of the table, my mistake, game over, Lassiter would run 28 and out and get his first win!

Life wasn’t easy in the pit in Johnston City 1970 but it wasn’t over either!

Can someone explain the scoring here:

Keith ran 127 and out? -2 for the two fouls from the previous rack, so he got to 125 and won the game/match? But then Keith was at 64, scratched, and Luther ran out to win the game/match? Was Keith actually on his way to running 127 and out in his mind, but then scratched when he was at 64?

Yeah, lost me on that one too.

Hmm, were there two different matches of 14-1 being played and Keith had too win them both? . Won the first match then was defeated in the
second match? That's what I took from it.

He was "on his way TO RUN 127 but stumbled at 64".
Is that clear?
Yup, that makes sense. I think he meant "planned" instead of "preceded".

I’m sorry I led you good people the wrong way, I was in the process of running 127 and out but I screwed up at 64 or 65 lol. But I had to go 127 and out to win the match Lassiter was that good!

I didn’t do anything super special I just played the same level as my opponents but that was pretty freaking high level! I wanted and was capable of going 125 and out against one of my opponents, I felt like I was gonna do it against Lassiter but I messed up and scratched. I never ran over 70 against either opponent!

I played one match apiece at 14-1 against Lassiter and Ronnie.
