Last minute trip to the World 10 ball

I am seriously considering a last minute trip to the tournament. Hotels and flights to Vegas are crazy cheap right now and all other sports are shut down. Do you think they will cancel this today or tomorrow or will the show go on? I hate to go all the way out there for nothing.

Will they shut down Vegas? Unlikely.
Should they...time will tell.

They haven't announced yet but there's no way i'd book any trip out there for a while. Ever been to Vegas? Not the cleanest place on a good day.
 
FINAL 4 DAYS OF EVENT CANCELED

As concerns about COVID-19 continue, CueSports International is announcing that the final four days (March 18-21) of the CueSports International Expo are being canceled. This includes the BCA Pool League World Championships, USA Pool League National Championships & Predator World 10-Ball Championship.

Although the Rio Hotel & Casino is not closing, we are taking this step to ensure that we follow CDC recommendations related to social gatherings.

The event was scheduled to conclude on Saturday, March 21 but will now end on Tuesday, March 17. Divisions that are currently being played will continue and end on Tuesday.

There will be more detailed information released in the coming days.

We apologize and appreciate your patience as we work through this extraordinary situation.

Jesus...why not cancel effective today? Two more days of potential infections. I know there are events going on but the health and safety of the players should be paramount. Close up, give a partial refund and be done with it. Instead, they are dragging it out through Tuesday which is probably when the Rio will be closing down. Poor move, CSI.

All the major strip hotel/casinos are shutting down today or tomorrow. The Rio can't be far behind. Why they are still playing pool is beyond me.

It's ridiculous Jay and IMO, a very bad look for CSI. They come off as greedy and ignorant in a time of crisis. They should have pulled the plug on the whole event and rescheduled. Additionally, the APA putting the burden on the League Operators to make a decision is a cop out

Pretty hard to re-schedule a few 100 people worth of hotel, flights and vacation time from work. Really for any event. I don't think it was greed as much as just logistics of a mass of people that have pans for the week that may be thousands of miles away from home causing a big ruckus for everyone. And what do you do if the league matches are not done? Just stop it and chop up the prize money among who is left? Or make them schedule another week or travel when they may not be able to? So the teams or players that can't go back to finish are now in a forfeit? No good way to do anything here.

Did the forced shutdowns include provisions to make sure hotels, airlines and other business did not deny refunds or re-schedules?
