I had to play in my 8 ball bar box league last night, it's a BCA half master, half A league. We lose a round to a team that won 1-5 games in the round lol
The story, so i see a good friend of mine who is "heavenly kind of guy
" and he starts asking me about when pool ends and he has a buddy with him, who we can call an "apprentice " So the apprentice starts telling me how good he is and wants to play for money, so i continue to talk with them and he tells me has beaten johney moras father, mario and Erik Hjorleifson in a race to 9 with a 2 game spot and brings up a few other people.
So im thinking this guy must be a good player? Then he shows me some APA letter that says he's a high ranked player? blah,blah,blah So i ask the anchor on my team if he wants to play the guy and i tell him who this guy says he has beaten and he says "i will play him!" Now the anchor on my team is 23 years old and has lost 6 games out of 75 in this bca bar box league and has a 50% run out percentage in 8 ball, in another league that i spare on sometimes on black crowns.
So my other buddy who owns the bar says he will back the kid from my team and now there haggling over whether to go across the street to play on a gold crown because the apprentice does not want to play the bar box! The kid tells him "i will play you on any table you want" but the owner says it has to be in his bar now! so he can watch, So the bet is Bca rules a race to 7 for $500 on the bar box, lag for break. 45 minutes later the kid from my team takes the apprentice 7-2 lol and the money passed hands when the score was 6-2
