Here is an email I received showing the last tournament result.

We have just completed our fourth successful tournament. Membership is growing each week.

In tournament four we saw a very tough semi finals draw.

"Picasho" beat "Mark007Bartlett" 4/3 in the top half of the draw while "Suicidal_Thoughts" beat "SPECIAL" 4/0 in the other half.

"Picasho" was overcome by "Suicidal_Thoughts" 5/2 in the final.

Suicidal_Thoughts took the first place prize of $2000US
Picasho took the second place prize of $1000US
Mark007Bartlett took equal 3rd - 4th place prize of $500US
SPECIAL took equal 3rd - 4th place prize of $500US

The rest of the money ($6000US) went to the remaining players.

Our fifth tournament starts on Thursday 23rd of November at 2pm GMT Give it a try, you could be our next winner.

As it should be! I can't agree more. Is poolcomps paying real money i have not tried it my connection is to slow.

Yes. You need a paypal account and they usually take a few days to get everything in order and you will receive your money.

its not gambling because there is NO buyin

you pay a monthly fee of $7.50
that lets you enter these comps one a week for $10,000

then a world champs which will be $50,000 prize pot

your not so much paying the fee to enter comps either as there is are practice routines ect for the paying member! so im sure you could say its not gambling more paying for a service (whihc lets you win money)

For my $7:50 i have won $475 in 3 tournaments. This means I have won 5 years worth of membership fee. So what will I win in that time? lol

and how is it gambling when 90-95% of comp players have made their fee back AT LEAST

i personal have made rouhgly £120 for a £3 monthly fee :)

well the 5th one is coming up tomoz

so far they have all had the first round on a thursday
2nd on a friday (never needed the 2nd round yet)

then the fixed finals are on sat with each round starting on the hour from 2pm gmt

the key to these comps are you can decided when are where u wish to play your first and 2nd rounds

then on the sat it is a fixed draw and you will know who and at what time you are playing

so far they have not needed the 2nd open stage as they have not had over 500 players
as only the top 256 players get to the fixed stage only 1 round open stage has been made

this is why so mnay people have made such a profit

with 256 players getting paid almost ALL comps have paid out to EVERY player that enteres

any other questions

If everyone wins where does the money come from...sounds like someone has deep pockets for this venture. Has anyone received the prize $$

Tournament finishes on Sunday, everyone gets paid on Monday. Straight into my paypal account.

ive recived my money with 3-4 days of the comp finishing
whihc is not bad at all considering they are paying out to 256 players at least

the money is garentted by the WPA but was told that the money comes from private investors

(thats either one rich investor or crap load of cheap ones)

What safeguards are being taken to thwart cheating?

If the aiming lines still exist during tournament play, and I don't know if they do or not, then this enables someone with a flat screen monitor to use something as simple as a ruler to aid in their aiming.

Since money is involved, I'd be amazed if someone hasn't written or is in the process of writing, cheat programs that run along side to pretty much do anything you ask of it once the formulas and algorithms and pixel sizes of the objects is figured out. Cheat programs could do anything from extending aiming lines the length of the table to automatically figuring out power/english to inevitably hitting "go" and walking away once they became sophisticated enough.

I've played poolcomps and I must say in my opinion it is certainly the most fun of all the online pool games and seems to do a really nice job of tying in the multiplayer aspect of pool to online gameplay. I've just dealt with online services and games for many many years, even before the internet existed and people always create ways to cheat so I'm hoping some anticheating things are being put into play to monitor processes and it's own memory, not that those are 100% foolproof either but it's a start.

Cool...I played Mark007Bartlett a race to 5 for fun and he beat me 5-4. I wish I had time for these big tournaments, but I dont.
