Let me know how you like it

I think it's the best tip tool I've run across. I've been using the Wolfbite tool and yours is similar for shaping and burnishing but you also have the little strip for mushrooming and the surface for just roughing the tip to hold chalk. I haven't tried to reduce a mushrooming tip with yours yet and I think it will be a delicate operation, but no other tool I've found does that job at all (the Ultimate tries to but is dangerous to your ferrule).

Willards shape well but take forever to do the job, and that's all they do. Yours shapes much quicker and does all the other stuff.

Congratulations on a fine product!

Be sure and enter AZB promo code...

They want me to use their Flat rate box @ $4.95... because of the variance in the envelope thickness.... regular postage is about half that... anyone out there got any ways to get around this?

I am sure you have already learned this but the rule is it must be over 3/4 of an inch thick to be called a package. So put in some bubble wrap to puff up the envelope/package and send them first class mail. If you pay on line for the first 3 ounces with tracking it will be $1.75 to anywhere in the US. And a small amount for each added for each additional ounce over 3 ounces. I think it is $.17. Just print out your shipping labels and hand the packages to the post man and avoid the idiots at the post office. I never met people who knew so little about their own jobs. Just go to the postal website and study the rules and it is very clear and easy to figure. The people in the post office are the last to know about any changes. I doubt they ever read anything to stay up to date.

i ended up pretty close to that, my issue was that there was more than a 1/4" variance in the thickness which I guess prevents it from going through their machines.

i'm now using a padded envelope and sending it 1st Class Parcel. I dont' use tracking as it just adds unnecessary expense to the buyer.

I just ordered one, I am looking forward to trying it out.
I believe what macguy was saying is if you register with the post office you can pay postage online and delivery confirmation #s are free if you do it online. So no added expense to the customer and a delivery confirmation # for you for the same price. My postmaster had told me about it.

I'll go back and look again but the best i could come up with is just 1st class parcel. With regular 1st class, for $ .19 extra I can get delivery confirmation but tracking is not an option unless I get up into priority mail, express mail or the flat rate stuff which is like triple the cost.

AFAIK, delivery confirmation and tracking are the same thing. Your package gets tracked as often as the post office scans it, which usually happens only at the time of drop off and delivery.

How do you change out the abrasive surface if it wears out?

That might take quite a while if ever. Joel stated he's been using it for 2 years plus without it wearing-out.

The abrasive is Aluminum Oxide on cloth and is made to abrade metals. Using it on a leather pool cue tip really does not stress the abrasive.

While i keep mine in my cue case pocket and do on the spot work by hand, I also use another one regularly with my lathe doing multiple tips & all I have ever had to do was hit it with compressed air to clean out the leather particles. I imagine at some point using it full time on a lathe with multiple tip will wear it out. You can clean out any leather particles by blowing on it or using a pencil eraser but it will not clog under normal use.

now, if you try to shape every bar cue in the pool room one night you might give the tool a run for its money.

If you print your postage on line it cost almost nothing for the tracking. It is like $.19 and free with priority. When you are dealing with people on here they know you but the general public likes a tracking number when they buy anything. If you use bubble wrap and 28lb 6 x 9 manila envelopes (should accommodate you item) like you can buy from Office Depot you will save on the costs and present a nice professional package. Your packaging cost will be around $.08.

Thanks
